Yep, social distancing protocols will remain a part of life until there's a vaccine available. We'll probably have a few different waves where stay at home measures are implemented again. The same people who bitch and moan about it are the same ones who didn't want to do anything to begin with that led to this being our reality.

I have a wife and kid, mortgage interest to write off, student loan interest to write off, we claim 0 dependents on our taxes and withhold a little extra on each paycheck on top of that and we STILL end up just hoping to break even. There's a global pandemic. Unemployment rates are soaring. The economy is in a free fall. No one has any idea of when we'll be able to return to any sort of normalcy, both in everyday life and economically. Yeah, it's as bad as it's been in my 37 years.

Yep, as unprepared as possible. It was going to hit us one way or the other, but we ensured that it would hit us as hard or harder than anyone else in the world. I'm not defending our federal government's failure in any way, shape, or form.

Regardless of who was in the White House, this stuff was coming here and due to the size of our population and geographical size of our country, testing was going to be a giant PITA. BUT, our federal government certainly put us in the most unprepared state we could've possible been in, that's for sure.

The raw numbers look good until you realize they only have a little over half a million people in the entire state and they've only tested about 800 people. And if you do get sick and need a hospital, you're gonna be in a Wyoming hospital. LOL!

New cases per day is probably a pretty poor tracker right now considering our lack of testing and the very specific symptoms you have to have to qualify for testing. Hospitalizations is probably the better barometer. The overall percentage of people requiring hospitalization is probably fairly stable. The problem with that metric is it's like looking into a crystal ball into the past because most people don't end up in the hospital until 10-12 days after exposure and then the average incubation period is 4-5 days.

There's probably a strong overlap between these people and the people who stopped drinking Corona beer.

Agreed. There's gonna be serious backlash against China and likely serious repercussions following this. I feel for the Chinese people who will likely bear the brunt of the suffering from it, but yeah... fug their government.
