Players don't take team friendly deals to stay in dumpster fire organizations. At 31 this will be his last shot to get one last payday and possibly his last shot to try to compete for a ring of that's what he wants. He generally fits the description of a guy who would demand a trade more than he fits the description of a guy open to take a team friendly deal with his current team.

If we think the BPA is an OT and there's no compelling offers to trade down I'm open to it. You gotta remember Moron is going into the last year of his contract and you're either going to have to back up the Brinks truck to pay a guy on the wrong side of 30 or you're going to have to let him walk for a comp pick... or you trade him.

All options should be on the table. Always. I never loved Gettleman's probably ego driven stunt of running the pick up immediately to show everyone how confident you are of your decision. If the phone is ringing I'm listening. Yeah, you may really like a prospect available but someone on the other end of the line might like someone available to the point that they're willing to do something stupid to get him. Now granted, working against us is the reality that our owner is the poster child for that person on the other end of the line but that aside, yeah we should always listen if offers are coming in and there's time on the clock to hear them.
