  1. Because the people in this room didn't make that pick. Their GM literally looks like he's contemplating quitting on the spot. LOL
  2. I wouldn't say ever but certainly not in our situation. If you had a team that was right there on the cusp of being a legit contender with a glaring weakness at pass rushers, maybe. But that's obviously not us.
  3. And new problems created, especially if Bryce regresses or plateaus at mid-level.
  4. I mean, Kony Early was a massive disappointment and all but you gotta give the guy his flowers for that game. He looked like a HOFer that night.
  5. Meh, it's preseason. Honestly, I think he was significantly over hyped but we'll see.
  6. Most everyone realizes the moves are coming but that they're going to come as other teams trim down their rosters. We all know we're weak at LB but the names on couches haven't changed. There's no one out there we want to add. Prepare to be unimpressed by the names we ultimately add to round out our roster but it is what it is. Our lack of urgency at the position tells me that Morgan thinks our starters are "good enough" behind a significantly upgraded DL and that we'll look to upgrade our depth.
  7. Oof. That's a major one. Potentially career altering.
  8. Sounds like he may have literally just caught one
  9. more oof LOL I'm just enjoying laughing at someone else's misfortunes for a change. Trust me, I ain't gettin' cocky. I full well know we could very well end up watching similar in 24 hours.
  10. What will help more than anything will be improved DL play. We loaded up on DL in FA for a reason. Morgan knows full well that a LB's best friend is a good DL to keep blockers off of him. I'd rather have a good DL with deficient LBs behind it than vice versa.
  11. I don't think that I know more than NFL front office people and that's why I find it so baffling when I see them doing obviously idiotic things. They really should know better. I mean, this is a message board to talk about football. If your stance is they know more so we should all just trust them then what's even the point?
  12. Hard to judge a scout by the results of the team's drafts. He can be providing good reports and yet the GM keeps making dumb calls.
  13. I just hope they're addressing it thinking long-term. Don't give up assets that can be used long-term for a short-term solution for a team highly unlikely to compete in a significant way this season. There will be serviceable fill one on the waiver wire. If we have the good fortune of finding out that we have forth at a position group that's going to result in the release of an NFL level player then work the phones to see if there's a team out there with a need there that finds themselves in that same situation at LB.
  14. Y'all need to chill on the LB panic and just come to grips with the reality that it's gonna be a weak spot and we're gonna be dumpster diving on the waiver wire to fill in the gaps. The last thing we need to do is make some panic move and trade real assets for a bandaid like we would've certainly done in the past under Rhule and Fitterer.
  15. Yep. The only thing worse than making a QB draft mistake is doubling down on it and paying the guy pretending you didn't make a mistake. I hope Bryce proves to be a legit franchise QB but we can't pay him like one if he isn't
  16. I still can't believe the Giants paid Daniel Jones. What in the actual fug? LOL
  17. Cart in camp is very different than cart during the game.
  18. The Browns may have been better off with a tag and trade on Garrett. He's 29 and likely gonna be past his prime by the time they can fix this mess and they would've probably been better off with the draft capital and accompanying cheap contracts on younger players.
  19. As big of a mistake as the Bryce trade was for us if he doesn't pan out, the Watson trade would've been so much worse because you're not just dealing away a ton of draft capital but you're also taking a chainsaw to your cap flexibility. Now granted, no one expected him to fall off a cliff on the field then run into serious injury issues but that's the risk you take when you put that many eggs in one basket.
  20. Yeah, honestly just staying at Wofford until everything was ready was the logical call, but per usual Tepper is just desperate to try to erase everything in Panthersdom prior to his purchase meanwhile the fanbase is left desperately clinging to that version of the Panthers because whole we weren't consistent we would fug around and put a SQUAD out there every two or three years.
  21. It's not that hard to figure out. His NFL talent level is marginal, there's the very real concerns of distraction largely because of dad, and then there were all the reports of him absolutely blowing off the pre-draft process and handling himself absolutely terribly - reports he himself has largely confirmed since. Take away the media hype and his massive slide makes sense. The media over hyped his draft status from the get go. I said leading up to the draft there's no way this guy is a 1st round talent. He felt like a typical 3rd round type pick of a QB who put up big numbers in college but whose talent and style probably won't translate to the league but someone rolls the dice. This whole situation was largely a media creation.
  22. If you're a first round pick that doesn't have his fifth year option picked up you're pretty much by definition a disappointment at best. Look down the list of the guys who had their fifth year option declined this year. Tyler Lindenbaum is the only player on the list who deserved to have it picked up but didn't largely because the Ravens also had safety Kyle Hamilton to also pick up an option on. Most with Ravens world expect him to be re-signed long-term.
  23. Kenny Pickett might fetch them a conditional late round pick if they're lucky.
