The guy is a terrific college QB in the most prolific college offensive system in the country by miles. That's what Lincoln Riley does. I'm just talking about NFL projection. The talking heads just get dazzled by what he's doing in college without stopping to think... wait, does this actually translate to the NFL? Because consistently holding the ball for 4+ seconds doesn't. You can't do that in the NFL. We know he checks every physical talent box and then some. I just don't know if he can speed up his processing and he's going to have to.

Oof. Sanders with a Sam Darnold ball.

More and more the NFL is becoming a league all about getting the ball out fast. If your average time to throw is over three seconds you are way too slow. 2.5 seconds is quickly becoming about league average. Can Williams do that?
-
He held the ball on a pristine pocket for like six seconds until a guy came wide open. Yeah, the guy is super talented but how hard you bite on hype is just comical.

Caleb Williams' talent is obvious but I'm telling you, in terms of NFL projection how long he holds the ball is a problem. Can he change that? I don't know.

Standard Pac-12 and standard Lincoln Riley. Lincoln Riley football was made for the Pac-12.

That was a gift of a flag for Colorado.

I know Colorado is all about playing fast on offense but when you're going up against a team that's just flat out more talented and better you have to have the ability to change gears and slow the game down. More possessions and more plays favors the more talented team.

This is just cold hard truth.

Colorado really needed to get on that fumble. They're going to have to catch some lucky breaks to have any chance of keeping this competitive.

I don't pay attention to what the talking heads say. You just guzzle hype. It's what you do. Once again, UNC/Maye gets brought up again by someone other than me but I'm the one always talking about it. What a joke.

Yeah, this is gonna get ugly fast. Colorado is greatly improved from recent years but that TCU game was a flash in the pan. Realistically, they're probably a top 40ish team. When they go up against legit top teams they're just thoroughly outmatched.

That 3rd down play right there is what concerns me about Caleb Williams projecting to the NFL. Standing in a perfect pocket patting the ball for hours while a guy stands in the middle of the field wide open until he finally sees him. I'm just not convinced he sees the field fast enough to translate.

Seeing Colorado getting skull drug again isn't very intriguing.

One of the concerning things so far is that when he's tried to do this at the NFL level he's getting caught more often than not. He's definitely going to have to adjust to the faster overall defenses when it comes to his scrambling.

It's definitely a soft Saturday of college football when duke might honestly be involved in the most intriguing matchup of the day.

I was told by a good buddy who is an Eagles fan that Miles was nothing special and a product of that Eagles OL and that we'd quickly grow tired of watching him run into the backs of his OL when there's a hole to hit just a few feet away. I hoped it was sour grapes but it looks like he's right.

I hope they do great in the $EC. I want everyone on UNC's schedule to kill it.

Louisville might be the worst 5-0 team ever.

So is Marshall gonna do something Sunday?

Regular season, preseason, still waiting on something to get excited about bit there's no shortage of puff pieces trying to convince us he's a football savant. Maybe just ease up on the hype pieces and let the kid play and try to show something. Nobody's buying the hype anymore. It's go time.

We've HEARD this same stuff ever since we drafted him. I want to SEE it.

Achilles injuries are usually a career derailer. It is what it is.
-
Definitely not stressing about it. Just saying that yeah, it would suck and it would demolish my logic for backing the move.

I was onboard with the trade because I mistakenly thought we weren't going to be in a position to get a top 5 pick (or higher). After seeing how we played under Wilks I honestly thought we wouldn't be picking top 10 so if there's an opportunity to shoot your shot then shoot. But if we them turn around and actually earn a pick from true sucking that could land us a franchise QB prospect without a huge trade up? Ouch.
