  1. It's ironic how you categorize other people as fanboys while seemingly so blind to your own. It's pretty annoying to be honest.
  2. Wild. I thought he was gonna be a stud. It's why I pay no mind to all the "sure thing" or "plug and play starter" or "10 year starter" or "future All-Pro" stuff we hear thrown around about prospects leading up to every draft. Sometimes even the guys who have all the measurables and all the production still bust. There are going to be busts and steals every draft.
  3. 13 posts and all you've done is post Packers stuff and troll anyone discussing anything else. Honestly, if you were just posting Packers stuff on this thread, cool. But we've seen no shortage of posters like you before and we know how it always ends so I think we'll call 13 posts enough.
  4. What about the commissioner's exempt list? I'm guessing the Browns may have already communicated that they won't just sit back and quietly take it like JR did with Hardy.
  5. Watson had what 24 accusers? Let's say he gets 8 games. Does that mean another player can sexually assault up to three women before he gets a single game suspension? I mean, we've basically established a one game per three women assaulted precedent at that point, right?
  6. If we deny our starter the lions share of the starting reps in camp and preseason in order to try to catch our week one opponent off guard with our starting QB choice then that will be incredibly idiotic... which would unfortunately be very on brand for Matt Rhule.
  7. I'm fine with this little farce of a competition as long we name Baker the starter soon so that he can get all the starter reps.
  8. Yeah, that's the big red flag here. Really the only leg up Pickett had on the rest was that he was deemed by most to be the most NFL ready and might be able to hit the field earlier. I don't think anyone would've argued he was the most talented. Yet, word is that he's struggling mightily in camp. Uh oh.
  9. Like I said, they big mad. I just posted a Washington beat writer's take on camp and... big mad.
  10. To be fair, Pickett sucks and the Steelers made a big mistake with that draft pick. But anyone expecting Corral to play as a rookie was expecting too much. Everyone knew he likely was going to take a year or two to transition to the NFL and that's fine for a 3rd round QB.
  11. Don’t get this note twisted coming right after mention of some Wentz woes, but Howell looked the part of a quarterback facing Washington’s second and third teams. The fifth-round pick calmly stepped into throws and fired strikes to Kelvin Harmon, Kyric McGowan and others. He placed the ball perfectly to running back Reggie Bonnafon in the left flat with a defender lurking. Howell’s arm strength is legitimate. https://theathletic.com/3461026/2022/07/29/commanders-training-camp-wentz-young/
  12. Quise was a good college QB but it was so dumb of UNC to leave Trubisky sitting behind him. Trubisky was just a much better QB. A Nick Saban or Dabo Swinney wouldn't have hesitated to make that switch.
  13. I don't think anyone expects him to play this year but he should absolutely be in the mix next year, especially if Baker doesn't earn an extension.
  14. Maybe Colbert wasn't retiring and he was being forced out and this was him giving two middle fingers on his way out the door.
  15. Ronald Curry was what made me appreciate the seriousness of that injury. He was the #1 football and basketball recruit in the country. Won the McD AA slam dunk competition. Tore his Achilles and I can't recall him ever dunking a basketball at UNC and while he was still a good he was a shadow of his former self athletically. He still went on to play several years in the NFL but this is the guy who made Michael Vick an afterthought when they were both HS players in the VA tidewater area. It was ultimately Achilles injuries that ended his NFL career. I think he ended up rupturing his Achilles three times.
  16. I forgot about the cornea laceration. That was another basketball injury. Fingernail to the eyeball. College nurse took one glance and was on the phone to the optometrist.
  17. If Darnold wins the starting job it's going to take ALL the air out of this recent bump in optimism.
  18. Both MCLs torn. Torn meniscus in right knee. Multiple broken ribs. Severe high ankle sprain in right ankle. Torn rotator cuff in right shoulder. Concussion. The ankle was in basketball. The concussion came from mountain biking. Everything else came from snowboarding. Ironically I never had a significant injury playing football.
  19. I just have no idea how anyone could've watched Pickett at the college level and saw a 1st round QB prospect. He's basically a poor man's Teddy Bridgewater. He doesn't have an NFL arm. Why not just draft Kyle Trask last year? You wouldn't have had to have spent a 1st.
  20. It's just that everyone already knows the score. Sam is terrible. Corral is a mid-round rookie coming out of a college offense that doesn't yield itself to an immediate transition to the NFL. Baker is likely going to have to flop hard not to be the opening day starter.
  21. That's assuming everyone is buying the idea of a legit competition. I honestly doubt that's the case. Everyone on the staff and on the roster probably knows it's Baker's job to lose, so why bother with the theatrics. The factors you're talking about rely on there being a real competition. Everyone knows Sam sucks and Corral likely isn't ready to play early on as a rookie.
