  1. Uh no. 5 dookie RBs doesn’t equal a good one. They don’t get 15 players on offense because they got cheap RBs.
  2. More of the bs hate narrative that people have spewed about him since before day 1. Pushing a skewed narrative so much it gets repeated as true.
  3. He can’t provide one because it’s false. He said in an interview he anticipated it bouncing out and that’s why he raised up. He couldn’t get there before the defender that was already lower than him so he was playing the bounce.
  4. That was gettleman. Not Smitty. Smitty never quit on anything. Cam and Smitty got along fine. They just weren’t best friends or anything, hence Smitty talking about them being at different points in their lives.
  5. Bought an Everette brown jersey right after he was drafted. Learned that lesson the hard way, don’t buy a players jersey until year three or so
  6. Ah, I thought that might be the case but figured if Pep wasn’t then Jake probably wasn’t either.
  7. I’m guessing pep and td. Dark horse candidate would be jake
  8. Like I said in another thread, the “having someone good opposite of him to draw coverage” is certainly an argument that can be made, but I would rebut that a) that’s more relevant for an upper tier type guy. It’s more important to give your #1 guy who is going to be the obvious choice for defenses to focus a on a decoy than a #2. And b) I would argue the difference in coverage he may face would be offset by the fact he doesn’t have a megastar like Jefferson with him who the team is going to want to feed. I think he’ll do a little better than last year but obviously not as good as his prime years. And compared to what we’ve had recently, I think he’ll have more TDs but two or three hundred fewer yards than DJ usually gave us.
  9. I don’t think he’s going to have a career best year or anything but it’s not a leap to think that he’ll bounce back with more targets. More targets = more stats unless you think he’s going to drop all those extra targets… He’ll be better this year than he was the past year or two.
  10. Fair enough for now, but I anticipate it’ll go up a lot throughout the season.
  11. The drawing coverage part is one way to look at it, but regardless of coverage they still weren’t pulling #1 targets. I think with #1 volume of targets Thielen will “bounce back”. In other words, he hasn’t “slowed down” as much as people think, the Vikings just got a megastar who took his targets.
  12. Thielen’s production recently is only barely below DJ’s and he was the #2, not getting #1 volume. Sure Chark is oft injured but he’s still proven. Few teams have five proven vets at WR. It’s usually two or three and young guys, like us. I’m not saying we should be considered upper tier, but completely discounting Thielen and Chark is ridiculous. We’re better at WR than we were last year, that’s for sure. And there are multiple teams with worse than aging Thielen and injury risk Chark as their #1 and 2.
  13. I mean, Thielen and Chark are proven producers. Not to mention Hurst at TE. The rest of the guys, yea young potential. We do have proven production, maybe not not five or ten proven production, but middle of the pack surely.
  14. Here is not a hive mind. I consistently call it trash no matter the context.
  15. Ads and the bullshit screen covering banners that can’t be closed and block posts with no way to resolve the problem except refresh and hope it doesn’t happen again are two different things. I’m perfectly ok with scrolling past conventional ads but the ones here cripple the ability to read people’s posts sometimes.
  16. Nah. If we were on the cusp of a Super Bowl then yea sure f them picks and cap space. Young is probably going to need a year or two then we can start pushing all our chips in.
  17. I mean, he is wrong if the implication is that it’s more of an issue than any other QB. A couple batted balls in shorts is not indicative of anything. I imagine Brock Ossweiler (all like 6’7 of him) had a few himself, especially in his rookie year. The issue with Young’s size has always been durability rather than height and batted balls. Reich and others have already addressed how much easier it is for that to happen in the sort of practices they’ve been able to run so far.
  18. On a more serious note, Blackshear looked good in his limited snaps last year. Hope he gets more opportunities this year. Doesn’t help he’s not exactly complimentary to Sanders’ running style though.
  19. Oh no, Joe Person thinks Young’s batted balls are something to keep an eye on
  20. Probably a misclick, happens to me all the time when I’m on my phone in poor reception area. The pop up lags and I click the wrong reaction.
  21. Cam Darnold (from last year) Dalton Heinicke PJ Allen Baker Bridgewater
  22. Boger, Blakeman and Hochuli are on the Mount Rushmore of bad refs. All three just horrid.
  23. By the time it will have been voted on he’ll have had four months to earn it. I think he will, everything put out so far makes it sound like he’s earning the respect of everyone on the offense. The extra studying and things like that will be noticed by his teammates.
  24. No way we spend money on a RB (or WR) when our CB group is getting thinner and thinner and there are other positions where the gap between what we have and what we could sign is much larger than RB or WR.
