A 1st round pick for his services and his contract sounds fair to me.
-
Will be watching this.

I haven't been following it so you have me at a disadvantage. Then Washington doesn't have anything to bitch about.

Maybe he didn't invite them to fly up in the first place? There's 2 sides to this.

When is Coach Canales introductory press conference?
Jon Snow replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
To be honest I have no expectations for this team. I'm just going to watch to see what happens in the offseason. Rookie coaches are talking several years to show whether they know what they are doing or not. Take the hype articles for what they are. They real test will show up if they can draft well and sign wisely in FA. It's not happening next season no matter what. -
Joe getting his coaches mixed up?

Why carolina can not* afford to lose Burns
Jon Snow replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
No, they do not need to extend him. Let him go somewhere else and get his money. He is a waste of assets here. -

Where we are is rock bottom. We either stay there or decide we've had enough and climb out of this pit of dispare. I just hope to be the best of the worst teams next season. Is that too much to ask? -

Good, maybe they can get something out of him after all. This team cannot afford him nor should they try to. -
I'm not sure continuity on defense is a good thing. From my perspective Evero and his team should be released. Better yet try to trade Evero for a pick. But keeping him on when he was passed over for the HC job is asking for trouble. He would not intentionally cause trouble but there will be a division among players for sure.

Don't ask me! Those were Frank's words.
-
Pretty much. He was more of a mentor to Frank, per his own words. How did that work out Frank?
-
I'm sure we would take a 1st round pick next year for him.
-
You do not replace Moton until you have to. He's been one the best and most reliable guys on the oline. You eat the cap hit because he's already gotten the money.
-
They should not be handing out franchise money to anyone on defense other the Brown. That money needs to add as many quality starts as possible on offense. Draft offense and defense.
-
He most definitely would bring credibility.

And Tony Romo. While you're at it add Chis Collingsworth as well. Those two make watching football almost unbearable. Thank goodness for the mute button.

Tony Pauline: Campen was Tepper's "eyes and ears"
Jon Snow replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
The way I see it there's only 2 ways that last offseason could have caused the season to unfolded the way it did. Tepper dictated/mandated that they trade up for a specific qb and he forced the choice. The coaches were not on board. From there it was every man for himself when the wheels fell off. Tepper fired anyone that wasn't making his investment work out. Tepper goes Tepper and here we are. Or, his all star staff convinced him to trade up and they chose the wrong qb. When it was obvious they chose wrong the all star staff went every man for himself and started to blame each other for it going south. Tepper goes Tepper and here we are. -
Don't care. But @CRAis right, if you are putting conditions on his return then he should not be part of the future going forward.

This might be the first SB that I do not watch

Adam Schefter reports Panthers targeting Brandt Tillis

For what "prominent role" are we talking here? -
Doubling down on Young. I don't like it. We NEED Young insurance.
Jon Snow replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's obvious the team is not ready to give up on Young. You can debate the merits of that all you want but be assured that it's his job to lose. Now you can probably debate on how confident they are in Young turning it around by how they actually do approach the position in the offseason, as you say. If there is real competition acquired then I will have to reevaluate the offseason behind the scenes decisions. -
The move indicates he's trying a different approach. Whether it's an indication that he's learning some lessons from past errors in trust or judgment I really could not say. In this case they are independent of each other and mostly depends on a lot of luck.
