    They have to be able to read and react in either position. It depends on down and distance, assignment yada yada. I will say that I'm shocked in the reactions from Panthers fans to an undersized linebacker given where the Keep Pounding chant came from. It's not the size of the dog in the fit. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

    Off the ball just means standing up or hand in the dirt. He can rush out wide or move inside with his hand in the dirt in a 3-4.

    He's an OLB. Jihad Campbell is an ILB if that helps. Someone listed as an edge rusher is either a 4-3 end or an OLB. Campbell is strictly an ILB that can blitz and cover a TE or RB out of the back field. An OLB can do the same but his main job is to rush the passer and set the edge like a 4-3 DE.

    When I heard the evaluator call him a safety I did a double take. I hadn't even considered the position shift in the nfl.

    I'm hearing he may be a safety at the next level. I guess it is a team specific plan I'm hearing.

    I'm not so sure they do. I could be reading them completely wrong but I would be shocked if it's Williams. Membou would be a better selection over Williams if they are looking at the trenches. Williams needs a lot of development as a pass rusher. Dan is serious about production mattering in the end and Williams doesn't have it yet. It's one of the reasons they want to trade down. I seriously doubt they will be able to so it is going to be a wild 1st round.

    It's that or a 3rd round TE. The TE from The U is an option in the 3rd if he makes it that far.

    Dart and Mykel Williams will not be in the Green Room on draft night. Wonder if they have been told something?

    There's probably some intel gathering with a lot of those visits as well.

    I fear they will have to take a wr early on day 2 if there's a run on them on day 1. You know how we fair with 2nd round picks and I think the best will be picked by round 3.

    If you go by last years 30 visits they will probably take about 4 of those guys in the draft. Whether that's by design or just plain luck I'll let you decide. Last year the 1st pick couldn't keep his mouth shut before the draft but this year, so far, it's been silence.

    As far as I know they've only met with him one time. I suppose that doesn't matter that much in the end as they've kept things close to the vest so far. Maybe the production thing has some weight, maybe it's just talk. The truth is they would much rather trade down and get more ammo to move up in the 2nd round. Who they are targeting is anyone's guess.

    We certainly hope so. They need to do a better job of finding day 2 and 3 talent or this team will continue to be bottom dwellers.

    I would not expect a future starter from every pick in this draft. Most of those will be day 3 picks.

    He's been mocked to either the Ravens or Eagles in the past week. Prior to that it was the Dolphins. He's big and fast with great ball skills so who knows? I feel the same way about him as I do Walker, uncertain.

    The entire room is taking visual clues from the boss. Its impossible to avoid. I finally had to limit the number of meetings I had with the staff. I had to limit my involvement to phone calls to individual team leads and monthly staff meetings. It made a night and day difference in creativity and productivity.

    Jeremiah says he's the best in the draft if that means anything. He raves about him.

    They are different types of safety apparently. Starks is more of a strong safety where Nick is a free safety according to DJ. I have not researched either to know enough either way.

    It surprised my as well when I saw how many times they met with him. At first I was thinking he was a trade down option but now I'm not so sure. They are targeting a pass rusher but it must be in the 2nd round on day 2. I think day 1 it's Walker or Emmanwori at 8 as the 2 options. I haven't seen them show as much interest in any offensive players on day 1.
