  1. Here is another way to look at it. This team averages 6.2 draft picks a year. The league average is 8.1. Today, we drafted 11 players, and I imagine 9-10 will stick. It was like 2 drafts. I am not suggesting anything, but we added 2 WRs in the draft and Moore in free agency from Seattle. We have DJ through 2022. Technically, we could cut Waive or trade Anderson this year and save $8m. Do not want that, be if we had to do so... We probably won't have Jackson next year---he is injury prone and inconsistent. We added 2 CBs in free agency, 2 in the draft. We also have Thomas-Oliver and Pride and Hartsfield at nickel. Cutting or trading Jackson saves the team $2.4m and leaves about $400k in dead cap. We added 2 TEs in free agency (Sullivan and Arnold) and we just drafted Tremble. Ian Thomas is in a contract year and cutting him frees $2m vs. $200k in dead cap. So if we HAD to, we could clear $12m without hurting our dead money much at all. I see Thomas getting cut, and I would not be surprised to see Jackson cut or dealt. So as we all know, it is not all about talent--it is about cap management as well, and if you have players earning $2+m per and they are in a contract year and not likely to help the team, why pay them?
  2. Next year, when we have that extra 4th because Fitterer ate Houston's lunch on that trade, we will rejoice and engage in festive merriment.
  3. that is so untrue. A whistle does not start the play. So when you refer to "between the whistles..." it makes no sense.
  4. Maybe we are not thinking of this like they are--if they have 2 press CBs and 3 safeties (2 deep) maybe they feel that they are OK--I can't figure it out. Burris in a cover 1, yes, but if we run man or cover 2, is it that big of an issue? I am not a db expert, so...
  5. I was just reading up...like the press CB on each side. Why we got 2, I think.
  6. The boy does not understand that 5th round draft picks are developmental--if cutting him is the reason he is trash, what is the reason they brought him back?
  7. That kid from Washington (6-2 CB) could get a look there, Ibe, robinson, etc. Burris has played both SS and FS.
  8. #1 selling long snapper jersey sales in NFL history. Love him
  9. FIsher is too--a 2 down run stuffing tackling machine--ideal for 3-4 sets--no real pass coverage responsibilities--he simple mans play side B gap to off side A gap. Special teams. Goal line--nice signing.
  10. They said their board had 150 names--which does not explain trading back and taking 4 sixth and seventh round picks. Maybe a dart hit a good player.
  11. Plus a few shoulder surgeries. Hard to bench in a sling.
  12. I am happy with this. As I look back over my mock, It is uncanny how I missed on every pick. But that was intentional.
  13. The good news? This is a need pick, based on JJs age. If this is our biggest need, we are ready to go.
  14. This was before Dylan Moses, Quincy Roche, etc. What happens when you have too many picks late
  15. This pick is about what we got for Bridgewater. Let that sink in. (no pun intended). Getting too cute here
  16. Since the SR bowl is the measuring stick now, watch for Roche (Edge Miami) next.
  17. Smith was very underrated with no QB. He is a steal
  18. This could send Elfein to C--He played LG at Bama, but here, prolly a RG.
  19. Dropped because he was too fat during SR bowl---if ever a year for that---he has lost 20 lbs since. https://www.si.com/college/alabama/bamacentral/alabama-ol-deonte-brown-has-lost-nearly-20-pounds-since-senior-bowl
