Isn't that a complaint?

I think that we all developed our opinion of Elf when he was sucking at LG--when I watched him at C, he was decent, in my opinion. Discuss amongst yourselves.

I tried to watch the OL, but that is hard to do when there seem to be limited replays. So Tecklenberg gets the majority of the snaps at C. That means Bozeman and Elf are locked in as the veteran centers. Tecklenberg is very limited, imo. Cade Mays looked good when I watched him. I also found that Austen Pleasants seemed to do well at RT. I know this will come as a shock to some, but I am guessing that Deonte Brown could be cut first round. When I watched him, he was dog poo. Brady Christensen seems to have arrived as an NFL player. Now if they could simply find a spot for him. I wonder if LT was really our biggest need during the draft. I think he was good at G, but not much came his way. Michael Jordan is being developed for depth, but I think that Mays' play could send Jordan into the #4 G role--and since he does not play C (to the best of my knowledge) it could mean getting cut. Jordan is one of those head-scratchers that must have pictures of Rhule with a goat.

I have been waiting to see if others had a problem with the sound balance--it was as if the background (stadium) noise was louder than Smitty and the other guy. I could not hear them at times--maybe is was my TV

As I watched that, I saw Jordan and Elflein on roller skates getting run by and run through. Please stop this insanity of making everyone think there is a competition going on--gonna get our QB killed.

I read that someone said, "Well, he got beat one play, but all Tackles do" or something to that effect. I agree, but maybe once or twice per game. When you give up one bad play and you were only in the game for eight plays or so, that really is not the best defense. I think he will be fine, but he will have growing pains. To me, Sewell (Lions) was the best, most sure-fire OT to come out of college in a decade. He struggled for a half season or more. So we will see.

Corral was not ready to play---this is what happens. And yes, a bad OL and unfamiliar WRs/TEs can make you look terrible. We were not getting a lot of pressure on Howell, and he probably gets more reps in practice--which explains the difference.
-
He had no WR's, no TE, and No line. He has been given nearly zero reps in practice. Not fair to him--but I was hoping for better.

I just hope Baker elevates his preseason game 1 performance so that his stats outperform Watson in Cleveland. Snicker

Can you haggle on that platform?

You have to take the entire picture into consideration, understanding the metaphors and suggestive language. "Wearing this shirt, I may find about a half dozen (6) turds (brown) on the field." Now the investment seems wise.

While I will not deny that he is good, when you trade away your drafts through 2034 and you put your team in cap hell moving forward, it is pretty easy to have some positive moments.

Simms is right on the money re the competition

To me, the temperaments of the 2 individuals is a huge factor. Sam is quiet and reserved, and he does not seem too bothered by his lack of success or the signing of Baker. Baker is more of an Alpha, and I do not think he would settle for a backup role. I think Sam is more willing to accept that role. Of course, this is only important if they were equal in talent. -
The OL needs chemistry
-
I get that-I really do-but I think they really need to get to Corral while they have a chance. He will be buried this season as the #3 and they have some huge decisions to make about the QB position this winter. But to your point, by the second half of most preseason games, you are getting practice squad hopefuls, so it may be more harmful than helpful...

QUESTION: WHY? You have 2 NEW QBs, a NEW OC, a NEW offense, and the real impact players need reps. I hate Rhule's cockiness and his stupidity. He Knows what Darnold is about, and PJ does not even belong in the league (below 50% completion rate).

It is nice to have gone from 1 startling T in 2021 to 3 starting T (caliber) in 2022. Through a 17 game season, that could be huge.

Westry's play went Southry.

Saturday Scrimmage Play by Play and Observations

Yeah--I think it is a weakness. We have some decent blockers, but I would hardly see any of them taking focus off a WR or keeping a team from blitzing. -
