  1. It is a gamble, but not as much as signing a high-priced free agent coming off a great year. I see your point and you are not wrong.
  2. Me neither--Bold statement of the day: Luvu will make us not miss Reddick much. He is more versatile, imo and much cheaper.
  3. The panthers are positioning themselves to address the OL with a free agent G and/or C, Rhule hinted at moving BC to LT, and they will trade away some big salaries to be able to obtain Watson. That is the only way this team might become relevant in 1 year. The tea leaves are barking.
  4. Yes, but I think his apology needs to be heartfelt and followed by therapy. Not a tour--one time and put it behind you. Continuing to deny is probably what he will do.
  5. Taking a look at the Houston delimma--they have very few potential suitors. Watson has to be moved. They can wait until after free agency because the draft sucks. But they need to draft well, and foregoing a draft pick this year would be stupid. I say offer the #6 overall and the first rounder next year, and throw in Moore or Thompson or CMC. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THE DEAL. They are simply trying to appear calm, when they are under pressure to move Watson before the end of April.
  6. I honestly think they are going to roll out with Tremble and Ian at TE--but I think I read somewhere that the Panthers were eyeballing some TEs at the SR bowl
  7. I think a lot of players rose during the combine--I think someone fell in love with a DT from Georgia, a CB from Cincy, a S from ND, maybe a WR from OSU---in addition to Neal at T---I think someone will be there worth trading up for. I could be wrong.
  8. Seriously--the #6 pick and another first plus Moore, for example, should get Watson here. I do not want him, but the #6 pick is as valuable as 2 late-first-round picks. We will use the cap to sign a G and another G or C, move BC to LT, and forget about the draft until the fourth round.
  9. Where is Fitterererer? Get to work, son. Signing your own mediocre players is a Marty Hurney move---make it happen. I don't care who you trade--at least we have the chance to get better if you make a deal-- And if you are going for OL--make sure the scouts that helped you last year with Elf and Erv stay home that day. I did not see that rant coming.
  10. I think the plan is to trade back, unless they can get a buttload of picks for a CMC or Moore. I still think Fitt trades back if the offer is there. Having said that, if we add 2 studs on the OL (free agency--not like the studs we signed last year) we could see an improved Darnold--nobody has seen him behind a stud OL--I am not saying that he will evolve, but I am saying our options are very limited.
  11. Thomas is a good to decent blocker and not much of a weapon, but you have to cover him. Expect to see TEs going in the draft earlier than in the past---
  12. Denver sees themselves as a 2021 Tampa Bay--ready to roll once they get a vet QB. They are now all in.
  13. It certainly makes sense. I seriously believe Rodgers is addicted to the offseason attention.
  14. That is what I think. Rodgers is just being a Rodgers-there is not a bigger ego in the NFL
  15. Here is what I think we all know: Fitterer is looking for cap space and draft picks. I think he'd take a second and third rounder to get rid of the cap. Asking price is not getting price.
  16. There is some talk about them getting Von Miller back too---are they now poised to make a Super Bowl run? I guess we started something concerning Miller's jewelry box.
  17. That Gilmore trade (giving up a pick for an injured star player they could not afford to keep) was puzzling. They thought they were playoff bound at that time, fwiw. Decided to go "all in" they did.
  18. Lets say we rebuild the roster--would Rhule have won the super bowl if we had the Ram's roster? I do not think so. I think these players are expendable because they are in a bad scheme with a bad coach.
  19. I would take Norwell--many OL play strong til they are in their mid thirties. Not my favorite choice--- They had me until I saw Elflein and Brady playing beside each other. One is oft injured and soft at times, the other is an unproven 25 year old Mormon. With Cross at LT--where do you run the ball when you need a yard or two? Left? (Cross). Middle? (Elflein) Right? Christensen. Not ideal.
  20. Former English teacher (HS, Comm College) here---I would give you more pie if I could.
  21. Considering how weak this QB crop is and how strong the OL is--does anyone really think we are going QB? I mean, we have Darnold on a one-year deal and could probably bring back Cam. Nobody else makes us better in 2022. We are going OL--maybe a trade back. Seriously--you might do better in round 2 (if we trade back) and grabbing a QB there than in Round 1. What is the difference between Pickett and Howell, for example? Grab the Jordan Gross of the draft and let's stop worrying about OT. And if you think about it, even Darnold will improve with a better OL---will any rookie be better than the 2022 Darnold? Probably not--to be honest. No swings and misses. Get the T.
  22. When I look over the past 3 seasons (49 games), I do not see how we won 15.
  23. I think there might be one qb in this draft who could have an impact on the NFL level, but he is a project (Willis). Rhule is not drafting a project. I think they should just go ahead and trade someone or something for Minshew and be done with it--I think he is underrated and is about as good as we can get. Draft the OL, sign an OL, and enter the season with that.
