This is a sign and shows the kind of heart he has. Bryce knew some of us wanted Stroud. So this is a nod to those fans. We have a winner here.

He should have changed his number to this...

At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?
Matthias replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
The trade itself was a win-win for both organizations for now. Never bought into the "robbed" talk. People are just desperate to see something like that, to the point where any trade involving a team giving up more than one asset, is considered to be a fleecing. People forget the days of old where the Vikings gave away their soul to have Herschel Walker, or the Saints giving away entire drafts for Ricky Williams. Lol. That being said, the biggest thing we gave up was next year's 1st in my estimation. I love DJ Moore, but it's not like we gave away an all-time wideout. I believe with good QB play in Chicago, he will become a top 5 WR in the league. For us and our horrid QB play, that would never happen. I also don't consider that 2nd round pick to be a big lost for us in 2025. (Even though those picks are future starters, I can live with it considering what we got with the 1st overall this year) So again, our biggest lost in this trade is next year's 1st. So ultimately the future will decide if this trade was bad on our part. I see us having good success with Bryce Young. If he reaches his potential, to where we are consistent competitors for championships, I would say we robbed the Bears. If Bryce turns out to be HOF worthy at the QB position, that would be fleece level. On the flip side, if we for some reason have the worst record in football next year, giving the Bears the first overall pick, then at that time I would say we were fleeced. I personally don't see that happening. -
One of my favorite parts in the conversation, was when Smitty said at the time he was drafted, he asked Moose if he could have #87. Heehee!

Just enjoy folks....

The Jaguars don't actually exist. Correct.

If Bryce is as good as we think, we will win the next 20 Superbowls.

Hendon Hooker to Detroit?

We need to take Drew Sanders.

The S2 scores now have me on the Young train. Even if Stroud's score of 18% is false, there's no question its a low score. So much so, I believe it knocked him out of the conversation for our front office. As for Stroud himself, I'm still a fan and hope he has an awesome career. I would like him to go to the Raiders or Colts, and meet us in the Superbowl this year.

Its all semantics. The players' family would be regular folk. Literally anyone they know could place a bet, and try to get in their ear to make things happen. All I'm saying is, if you are that phobic towards your players betting on anything (even if it's outside football), why in the world are you promoting it everywhere? They go out of their way to promote that stuff. Are the players dumb for gambling? Yes. Is the NFL hypocritical? Yes. If we are going to condemn the players, also condemn the league who promotes gambling.

The NFL, and really all sports organizations, are big hypocrites. All day they drown us with the "betting odds" from games to who will go 1st overall. Yet when their players are caught BETTING, they are like, "Oh, how dare they!!! Throw them in the stockade!!!!!!" This is nothing but chickens coming home to roost for allowing the nation to legalize sports gambling.

Man, it looks like this score is probably true. With it, I'm officially off the Stroud train. (I was still kind of hoping we get an excellent trade back offer from the Texans, and we draft Stroud at 2). I would have been off had his score been 60%. 18%??? HOT D@MN!!!!!!!!!! I will still root for CJ on wherever he gets drafted. This score will make me root for him even more to bring down the test as much as Brock Purdy seemed to have lifted it up. Once again, if I were an agent to any top QB prospect (and perhaps all prospects because I think other position players take this test), I would tell them DO NOT TAKE THIS TEST!!! CJ Stroud may fall to the later first round after this one, if not out of the first altogether. Don't tell me it won't happen. These teams aren't playing around with stuff like this.

It's interesting that among football fans, Will Levis is a polarizing figure. You either love him or hate him. Making it even funnier is no one has a real reason to either love him or hate him, you just do. That said, among NFL coaches, I feel most, if not all, love him as a prospect. That S2 test score may put him in as the 3rd overall QB to be picked. I see Stroud falling possibly to the Raiders. If he gets by them, then the Falcons. If he drops past the Falcons, he could look to freefall.

Official Sound off like you got a pair Panthers Draft predictions thread
Matthias replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
You heard it here first. We trade back and pick up Texans 2, 12, and 1st next year. 2. - CJ Stroud 12. - Nolan Smith Next year's 1st - Marvin Harrison -
I would want the 2, 12, and their Brown's 1st next year. To make it sweeter, we would give them our 2nd round pick this year.
-
I also believe, particularly after Purdy's limited success, a lot of teams are putting a lot of stock into the S2 testing. I mentioned this jokingly in another thread, but now if I were a top QB prospect, I would never take this test even if I knew I would score well. Stroud may now very well be the fourth QB taken off the board because of it. Again, teams who do highly value this test will now look back on Stroud's career, and put more stock into his receivers and O-line (at least one of his tackles will be a first rounder) as being a key to his success at Ohio State.

Panthers Falcons rivalry potentially get a added spark
Matthias replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wouldn't mind seeing Stroud go to the Raiders. If the Texans are really adamant on passing up on him, it would be interesting to see if someone trades up to get him, or he simply begin to fall down the board. The wildcard is Anthony Richardson. I just think about what happened to Aaron Rodgers and how far he fell. During that time, only he and Alex Smith were seen as top QB prospects. In this one, you have 4. Could Will Levis jump in the mix?
