Sounds like they are eyeing Farley or Horn? From what I’ve read and also what Verge said in the draft day thread. Seems aggressive but seems they could be trying to get one of the CBs anticipating they will be picked through by the time they are picking

That’s very true and personally I do like Slater but the rumor being that some teams don’t feel he can play LT and feel he’s more an OG. I imagine if we felt like he COULD play LT then we would have no problem taking him at 8. So it’s just speculation on my part but I think if we trade 8 then we are one of the teams that sees him better suited inside.

I started feeling a few days ago that Horn was our guy. I don’t see Sewell being available (though he’s who I want in this draft so I’m glad to hear you believe we take him if he’s there) and based on comments regarding what Snow looks for when evaluating defenders and our need at CB, I think either at #8 or preferably via trade down, we come away with Horn this evening. Which I am actually good with but really want a LT.

Don’t mind him. I don’t agree with you on everything you align with politically but this guy is somehow trying to politicize grass... and not the grass the needs to be legalized in the state or NC. No but I will say Detroit needs help pretty much everywhere. The roster needs a total rebuild so I imagine if offered multiple picks for #7 they would be eager to play ball

Not to mention we pretty much unanimously agreed we would have the worst defense in the NFL last year. Even though our record wasn’t impressive, I really feel we overachieved in many aspects last season.

I don’t think losing Teddy makes us look all that much weaker at QB. We may well take a QB or LT but my gut tells me Horn is our guy right now

Didn’t they also talk to us about #8? In all honestly, it makes me think that neither of us will get what we are hoping for. I want LT, I know you are in the QB camp. But I really think we might be considering CB with the first pick.

Yeah I agree with you here. If both Sewell and Fields were somehow available then I would personally want Sewell but if the coaches and scouts view Fields as a franchise guy then I hope they take him regardless of what we gave up for Darnold.

That’s true. Granted Hornets drafting has been considerably better in recent years. I was on the Wiseman train and not big on Ball. Glad to be wrong on that one too
