Exclusive first look at Panthers updated jerseys
Soul Rebel replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Didn’t want to start its own thread, but curious about Panthers jerseys. is this the updated Process Blue authentic for sale? Also, do we think this will be the jersey for the next couple of years? Even if it’s until ‘25…would hate for them to update it next year after dropping 3 bills on this. -

So our sister team is getting a new stadium?
Soul Rebel replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Could this not be what the plan would be for us with that hella big proposal of $1.2B in renovations to BoA? Something like this would be ideal for us. No dome, but protection from the brutal sun in September and October. Change the field back to grass and boom, there you go. -
Akhello Witherspoon, Marcus Peters and Kyle Fuller are the "name" CBs on the market. IIRC, all are recovering from injuries last year. Witherspoon probably has the most left in the tank having turned 28 in March. Also has that lanky 6'2" frame that is desirable at CB. Rowe is probably the default guy as of now to step in as far as what's on the roster.

Damn....Floyd was the one I hoped we'd sign. Yannick makes sense from a history with Reich and Wash, but doesn't seem like the type of EDGE we're looking to sign. Replicates what Burns does quite a bit.

Potential $1.2B Panthers stadium renovation discussion
Soul Rebel replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
Does the public/local gov't get any ROI when the public funds part of it? Any returns from the gate/concessions/ownership revenue that is collected over the years since the locals are footing part of the bill? Seems rather "scammy" if the public funds part of it, yet the owners/shareholders reap the profits without reallocating it back to the folks that helped build it. -
Cap space, within reason, is irrelevant, so it's not only the teams with space that can sign him. If Buffalo or KC wants him and they view him as the missing piece, there's ways to make it happen. Anyone that watched our offseason should know this after watching Suleiman work his magic. I wonder, though a talented WR that I normally would love to have, would we bring him in and take reps away from guys like Chark, TMJ and Mingo. We're building a long-term contender....I wonder how Nuk would disrupt or delay the youngsters getting reps.
-
I'm leaning into positive intent for all thoughts on TMJ's production based off two sub-par OCs and a QB carosuel of garbage players during his first two years. I think a full healthy year with more weapons that opposing defenses have to accomodate, and a bevy of talented coaches helping him out should yield solid WR2 numbers. Kid was drafted at 20 years old and his LSU tape looked damn good in a crowded WR room with Jefferson and Chase.
-
Damn....let's polish this kid's skills and let him loose.
-
I think the heavy focus is on TMJ and I do think he will emerge as our future WR2. Tremble, as OP posted has potential to thrive. Having an OC like Brown that has former experience with TEs is huge. Tremble's youth and known that he was a project when drafted gives me hope. I also think this is why we held off on drafting one in such a loaded class.

@ the Hawks should be week 3....maybe week 9, and the bye after the 3-game roadie in week 15.

Potential $1.2B Panthers stadium renovation discussion
Soul Rebel replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
New Bills' stadium is $1.2B, Vegas' was $1.9B and the rumored Soldier Field renovation is at $2.2B. If we're getting a new stadium, I'm guessing it will approach $3B. I'd prefer a new stadium, but if we can renovate our stadium to offer a bit more shielding from the elements (sun/rain), have a natural field option and modernize the look, I'm for it. It is hard to swallow the cost when you have one of the richest owners in the league asking for money....especially after two failed projects in Charlotte. The dynamic of taxpayers assisting in the cost, yet the Owners reap all the profits is baffling. Unless I'm missing something and the city/county/state does get ROI. -
I think ATL has to be our natural rival and there's been many games that have drawn bad blood. Closest to us, I-85 rivalry.....ATL vs. CLT as a big metropolitan southern city. The Mike Vick years of beating us....Smitty/Brandon/Cam fights....Cam's huuuuge run at the Bank. I do think most fans "hate" the Saints for more reasons, but my vote is the Falcons. Their 28-3 game quickly wiped away our HORRIBLE SB50 public embarassment too.

There's gotta be a reason why he isn't signed yet, and I'm leaning in towards money. YN and Todd Wash have a strong history together and have backed each other up over the years in JAX. Maybe Evero isn't feeling the YN fit opposite Burns and I get that part of it. As others have pointed out, Ngakoue does put up sacks and pass rush metrics to support a roster spot, even if it is rotational. Maybe Evero/Wash like what they see with YGM & Haynes?

Good vet back-up, swing tackle that is being brought in for his knowledge and mentoring. I'm sure Campen liked having his experience in the film room, in practices, etc. last year and will help with the younger players. Can never have enough depth, IMO. That being said, if a youngster or one of the UDFAs is flashing this summer, I hope that Erving doesn't clog that roster spot.

This was one FA CB that I wanted to kick the tires on. Will have to see final numbers, but $6M is too rich for my blood. Thought he could be a good #3 and step in to a #2 boundary role in a pinch. As long as he wasn't depended upon for CB1 or constant CB2 burn, could've been a solid vet addition.

2023 NFL Draft’s best scheme fits: Bryce Young
Soul Rebel replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am pumped for this team facelift. From coaching, to players, to schemes and systems....it truly is a new era of Panther football. What I'm most excited about is the look of our offense and defenses - Reich/Brown/Caldwell's fingerprint and Evero/Capers identity. I recall Reich's Colts' teams having a unique style of offense. I liked formations, motions, running game, etc. and remember that it doesn't look like a lot of team's in the league. Same with the Chargers too a little bit. The Broncos' defense, again, doesn't resemble a lot of the teams in the league. The multiple looks they give, the way they disguise and create mismatches advantageous to the D is brilliant. Certain players are needed to thrive in it, and I think these players have been brought in. Not necessarily "sexy" names on paper (Tuttle, Williams X 2, Penisini) but ones that fit what will work in this scheme. -
Albert Breer: MMQB (on Bryce and the QB evaluation)
Soul Rebel replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Though David Carr's career and image is kinda tarnished, I did hear an interesting, yet basic "football 101" thing recently from him. Every QB finds lanes to throw in and Young will find his. Whether it's a 6'4" QB like Carr or a 5'10" guy like Young....throws are made in windows and lanes, not over the top of the trenches. He was talking about the perception of Young's height and Carr said that QBs don't throw over OL/DL. So all of this concern with 6'5" and 6'6" linemen shouldn't be an issue. Something so simple. -
I feel like this was being said around this time last year with the '23 class....and most other years. Getting Levis/Bryce/Stroud was a hot topic.
-
If Fournette can be had for under $2M, I'd swap him out for Hubbard. Hubbard cost's us $350k in dead money and saves us $2M over the next two years. Fournette is a vet a bruiser at the goalline and pretty good hands out of the backfield as a receiver.

Love....love...love DJ in #52. Big shoes to fill, but it feels right for a player of his style and with the expectations we have for him.

Love seeing the bit about Tremble. Thought he had potential, but was far from a finished product. After seeing us bypass one of the deepest and most talented TE classes of late, made me think that this coaching staff sees something. At least push it out a year with Hurst here and see what they have with Tremble. We know Reich likes his TEs to be able to block and T2 is well balanced .
