The offense could get at least marginally better if we run the ball more. Against Arizona, we ran the ball 19 or 20 consecutive times in the third and fourth quarter in a close game. Unless Tom Brady from 10 years ago is your qb, that isn't going to work.

What would convince you that Wilks should be the guy?
Davidson Deac II replied to Jaxel's topic in Carolina Panthers
The same thing that always convinces me. That being wins. The bigger question is how many wins would it take? I would say that if he finishes at or above five hundred, then yes he earns the right to continue as coach. Otherwise, we should probably look elsewhere. -
Don’t be surprised if Panthers beat Rams Sunday
Davidson Deac II replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it depends more on our own offense. If we can protect PJ and he can get completions (and avoid interceptions), we have a shot. If not, it's going to be a long day for us, even if Kupp is sitting on a beach in Hawaii. -
And Snow got fired because he came in with Rhule. My guess is he might have quit anyway.
-
Agreed. The only thing we can really glean from this is that Snow and Rhule are gone. Actually, when reading what Tepper said, appears that Fitterer might have more power now. Panthers fire head coach Matt Rhule after 1-4 start to season (nfl.com) Rhule had to much power, and now the GM is going to have more input.

By god, it’s Marty Hurney’s ghost…
Davidson Deac II replied to Cary Kollins's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not really. The offense was terrible before he left, and terrible after he left. The Eagles, Giants, and Patriots games from last year were some of the worst offensive performances I have ever seen. -

Fortunately, it no longer matters. -
Maybe Cowher is finally ready to get back into coaching. lol

Was Rhule worse than Seifert?
Davidson Deac II replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rhule took a bad team and made it worse. Seifert took a decent team, and made it historically bad. But he help put some of the pieces in place that got us to our first superbowl, so its kind of a wash. -
The Panthers organization, owned by Tepper, is responsible for it. But it doesn't count against the cap, so its irrelevant to us.

I think it was the fact that yesterday's game was virtually a home game for the forty whiners.

If they go thru a four year period similar to the last four years we have had, they will be in the same situation. -

Maybe you are to young to remember the pre sean payton times. There were times the Superdome was a ghostown. -
We don't have a qb controversy. All our qb's are equally bad.
-
Our offense is pretty bad, but I wouldn't call either of these teams' offense competent tonight. On their first four drives, the Bengals has 13 plays, 14 yards, and 4 punts.

They are 2-2. They lost 11-10 to the Broncos. They will likely beat us today. But they still may not make the playoffs.

Graziano: "Lots of buzz" Panthers could fire Rhule
Davidson Deac II replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I doubt it will make much of a difference regarding wins, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. -
Steve Smith Sr admits what’s wrong with Panthers
Davidson Deac II replied to LegioX's topic in Carolina Panthers
He is right. We ran the ball a couple of times to start the third qtr. We punted, and they tied the game at 10-10. After that, we passed the ball roughly 20 consecutive times. By the end of that stretch, we were down 26-16. 20 consecutive throws might work with Mahomes or Brady. It ain't working with Baker Mayfield. -
He will be targeted 6 times, two completions, 1 interception and three batted passes. Its the Panthers way.
