  1. If we are talking 40 yard bombs consistently, I don't think those are integral to an offense. Throwing 20-25 yard passes accurately with DE's bearing down on you is. If Corral can do that, then he should be fine. The deeper stuff only needs to be on occasion and I think Corral is decent at that.
  2. Yeap, same with every other player drafted.
  3. Your numbers are a little misleading. Towards the end of the season, we were far behind in multiple games and teams were just running the ball a lot to run down the clock. That tends to increase the yards allowed per game. Ypc allowed is imo, a more important stat. We were actually 9th in ypc, a significant improvement from the year before last. I think the run defense has improved each of the last two years. During Rivera's last season, it was the worst run d I have ever seen. Year before last, better but still bad. Last year, we were middle of the pack. Hopefully the trend continues. But we certainly need to improve on all phases of defense.
  4. That will depend on how Corral plays. If Corral plays well, but we still lose a lot of games (ala Burrow's first year in Cincinnatti), then we won't take a qb. If he doesn't, then maybe.
  5. Sounds like most high school fights I saw. Mostly just pushing and shoving with teachers and friends jumping in before things got serious. I do remember seeing two girls fight once, and they were really throwing slaps and punches and going at each other. And no one jumped in to stop them.
  6. Kick returns perhaps. On the punt team, seems like he might be a good candidate for gunner.
  7. Him getting into a fight in high school or getting drunk in high school/college doesn't bother me. The depression thing could be an issue, but if he is talented, probably worth taking a shot.
  8. Just out of curiosity, how many 7th round picks have you cared about over the years? For me, the answer would be exactly one, and then we stupidly traded the player to Kansas City.
  9. I don't. I think we will have to show some actual improvement. If we end next year as poorly as we have the last two seasons, zero reason to think that Rhule is actually building anything.
  10. Stats don't show a single punt or kick return while at Baylor. Still might be a good special teams player. Fwiw, that kind of speed is worth a 7th round pick.
  11. Just watched part of it on HBO max. Got bored and tuned out after about a third of the movie.
  12. Well, having a few more pounds of muscle does make it a little easier to deal with the physicality of the NFL. Of course, getting the ball out faster helps a lot more.
  13. Tom Brady. He was three pounds heavier than Corral but a couple of inches taller, so maybe even skinnier.
  14. We may still trade for Baker. They made a huge mistake last year putting all the eggs in a basket named Darnold, may try to double dip in order to avoid that mistake this year.
  15. You are right, but in fairness, Brady does skew the results a little.
  16. Because projections about NFL potential are never wrong? Fwiw, they are wrong more often than they are right. All that matters once the draft is over is how they perform on the field.
  17. How do you know? I mean they haven't played a down. Last year's class was overrated, this year might be underrated.
  18. I could see Tampa taking him and letting him sit a year behind Brady.
  19. Fwiw, NFL staffs are wrong more often than they are right when it comes to qb's.
  20. He will have more time to throw interceptions now.
  21. I find all this draft value stuff baffling. Draft value is only known a couple of years after the draft is over. If he turns out to be a good quarterback, I won't give a crap where we draft him.
  22. I will be ok with it as long as the qb or other player we pick is actually really good.
