Its ludicrous to think it was "Tepper's" decision. He might have agreed to it, but it was Ruhle's decision. And maybe Bridgewater's.

I wish it would be Ruhle, but I think it will end up being the Clemson defensive coordinator at Oklahoma.

They love him Until he loses to Alabama, then they will hate him.

And NCAA rules and regulations are a pain. But I doubt that matters to a head coach that much, as the staff does most of the preliminary work for recruiting and they have staff members that deal with regulations. One of the things I remember from the Steve Spurrier time at Washington was that they compared him to Joe Gibbs. During the season, Gibbs would often sleep in the office, while Spurrier would never put that much time in. At least that was the rumor.

I don't think their running back situation is better than ours. Kamara hasn't been playing recently, and wasn't playing very well when he was playing. Even if CMC has been injured a lot the last two years, he at least played well when he was in. And their #2 back, Ingram is an 11 year veteran, while Chuba is young, and has shown a little promise.

Meh, just because we suck doesn't mean we can't tell others they suck.

I agree. Firing the GM at this point is silly. GM's should be judged on long term success, not a specific season.

Our defense is significantly younger, and probably has a better future. QB situation is iffy for both, but they are probably a little better off than we are when Jameis gets healthy. We do have a better group of wide receivers. CMC, when healthy, is probably better than Kamara when healthy. They do have a better oline. We have a better cap situation, they have a better coaching staff. In truth, neither team is currently capable of challenging for a Superbowl next year.

Also doesn't matter who is on the Oline if the quarterback is not good. We can draft a qb, let him sit and learn a year while we get the oline situation fixed. Assuming there is a qb we like in the draft (not that I trust the current group to be able to assess qb's).

Both positions are considered critical in today's NFL, with left tackle being valued only slightly above cornerback. But without a decent to good quarterback, neither one matters that much. And good quarterbacks are very hard to come by. If we had a do over in the draft, the only choice is quarterback.

Taysom Hill might be available after tonight. He is making Sam Darnold look solid.

Anytime I read that one college qb is a sure fire success, or another college qb is overrated, I take it with a grain of salt. Drafting a qb is a crapshoot, and no one knows how they are going to do. The key component to being a successful NFL qb is decision making and accuracy under intense pressure, and that is something that can't be determined until they actually do it on the field. IMO, if we have a shot to draft a qb and we think that qb can be successful, then we do it, regardless of the offensive line woes. If we have to let him sit a year (like Mahomes) while we rebuild the oline or let him learn on the sidelines, then so be it. And if we have to draft one every year or every other year until we finally get it right, then that is what we have to do. QB is to important a position to do otherwise.

I am not sure I agree that the roster is as bad as some of you think. If Horne comes back healthy, the secondary should be ok. The line backers and dline could use some tweaks, but the core is good enough to win games. And our defense is young and should get better. We need a qb, and some upgrades on the oline. Wont be easy of course, and I don't trust the coaching staff to do the assessments on the offensive side, but we are not desperate.

Rhule is going to spend one more year here, and then when Mack Brown gets fired after next season, he will take the job at Chapel Hill.

Don't listen to the noise, he was a very good college coach. Gave Temple some of its best seasons, then had Baylor in the Sugar bowl in three years. Beating ranked teams is not a big deal playing in a conference that doesn't have many of them. A team has to beat who it plays. But good in college does not equal good in the NFL. He was good in college and he should go back.

Please god, not Dave Clawson. ] In all seriousness, I have no doubt that Rhule would be tempted to leave for Ok or Notre Dame. The question is, do either of those schools want to hire him?

We are 2-0 against the the worst division in the NFC. That being the NFC south. Although I suppose one could argue that the NFC north is the worst.

Perhaps easy isn't the right word. But with all that, they drove it 90 yards in about two minutes with no timeouts. They never panicked, didn't seem nervous, and threw to open receivers who knew what to do.

Its really sad how some teams can easily move the ball downfield in two minutes, and we can barely get it to the 50 with more time. Even though Seattle didn't get the two, they still moved it down the field with ease, whereas we struggled against the same team.

It was a tongue in cheek reference, and I just wanted to quote Bull Durham. That being said, they are all possible wins. But I think we only win 1 more at most.

If we win 7, I will say "how'd we ever win seven" with this bunch of lollygaggers.

Well, if I had that kind of power, I would go back a long time, buy a lottery ticket with the winning number, invest the money is some stocks, then buy the Panthers myself. I would then use a fifth round pick to get Tom Brady, and do great at drafting, and build one of the most dominant teams ever.

Absolutely, no doubt about it. Of course, if I could turn back time, I would also keep Teddy, and let Mac sit a year while we get the oline issues worked out.

Spent a lot of time in Los Angeles due to family in the area, and college football is rarely even mentioned. Even when USC was good, they were rarely discussed. Reilly will go from being the coach of the most popular team in Oklahoma, to being less popular than the Lakers, Dodgers, Rams, and probably the Soccer club. Maybe less pressure from the local media is a positive for him.

Only slightly. And its also probably a harder job now. College football is king in Oklahoma, but its just not as popular West of the Rockies as it once was. I would venture a guess that soccer will eventually eclipse College football in the Los Angeles area in both attendance and ratings.
