I don't think he could have cut it regardless of the round selected. Had he been a 6th round pick, he might not have stuck around as long, which actually gave him a better shot at making it. And being a second-round pick got him a little more money. I think Hurney helped Edwards but hurt us. But its water under the bridge now.

I feel the same way. While I don't have high hopes, he gets a shot this season. If it doesn't work out, we try again next year with a qb in the draft.

How so? He was a good college player, but just couldn't cut it in the NFL. The Panthers gave him a shot, but it didn't work out for him. Seems to me that if anyone got screwed in the deal, it was the team.
