  1. HBO app crashed on me. Had to watch it on my PC. Eventually, HBO said to delete the app and reinstall it, and I can watch it now, although I am not sure if it worked due to lower traffic volume or due to the reinstall.
  2. If Baker plays well, we need to keep him. Even if we get rid of Rhule. Top 10/15 qb's aren't that easy to get. Those that say we can just draft one need to take a look at draft results over the last 10 years or so. Looking at NFL drafts from 2010-2019, a lot of qb's drafted in the top 10 don't work out. At best, its 50/50. IMO, if we have a guy that can play, we keep him and build around him.
  3. If he balls out, that makes the decision easy. You sign him to a big contract. The real question is what you do if he has a middle of the pack year.
  4. Agreed, and fwiw we may not be in as bad a shape at tight end as some think. We still don't really know what we have in Tremble.
  5. If we are good enough to contend for a playoff spot, I would prefer Sam. Not great, but maybe capable of winning a game or two if Mayfield is out. Plus anyone else we bring in will mean we have to pay them. Not a lot of course, but we would be paying them, while Sam's cap hit is still on the books.
  6. Well, I am not sure it was the right decision, but then I think it really doesn't matter that much. Fans complained last year about the snaps that the qb's were getting, and yet Darnold actually looked decent in the first few games but got worse as the season went on. In reality, those snaps, or lack thereof, made little or no difference to last year's outcome.
  7. Not even in Texas would they give someone the death penalty in this situation. Capital murder in Texas must involve one of the following elements: The victim is a peace officer or fireman in the line of duty and the defendant knows this. The killing occurs during the commission or attempt of the following felonies: kidnapping, burglary, aggravated sexual assault, arson, obstruction or retaliation, or terroristic threat. The killing was committed for payment or promise of payment. In this instance, both the person who paid for the killing and the actual killer can be charged with capital murder. The killing occurs during the escape, or attempted escape, from a penal institution. The killing is committed by an incarcerated person in conjunction with organized criminal activity. The killing is committed by a person incarcerated for the following aggravated felonies: aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault, or aggravated robbery; The defendant kills more than one individual either in one act, such as a mass shooting, or during different criminal acts, such as gang killings or as a serial killer. The victim is under 10 years old. The victim was a judge or justice and the killing was committed in retaliation or on account of the judge or justice’s service. Pulling out a gun in the heat of an argument is not going to get anyone the death.
  8. Assuming he goes under the knife, he should be ready by the beginning of preaseason in 2023. Outcomes of Lisfranc Injuries in the National Football League - PubMed (nih.gov)
  9. Yeah, but it's usually a case where someone plans a crime such as a bank robbery and someone else gets killed during the commission of said crime. For example, there was a case in my hometown where a jewelry store was robbed. The owner pulled a gun and shot one of the would-be robbers. The one that wasn't shot ran, but was caught, and charged with the death of his accomplice. I don't know if he was convicted or not. Getting in a fight, only to have someone you are with pull a gun and shoot someone normally doesn't lead to murder charges for the person getting in the fight. Although I suppose it could if the prosecutor wanted to make a point.
  10. And the inciting a riot charge would likely be dropped assuming he is a first time offender. The brother deserves 20 to life. Aquib should get some punishment as well. But he definitely won't get murder.
  11. For some reason, your comment makes me think of this. If you win 20 in the show, you can let fungus grow on your shower shoes. But until you do, it means you are a slob.
  12. For that matter, higher first round picks usually don't provide that. Drafting a qb is a crap shoot regardless of where you pick.
  13. Preseason. And it does matter these days. You can have a team loaded with talent, but if you can't get at least above average play at qb, Superbowl wins are exceedingly rare.
  14. Given that he has missed some training camp, this is distinct possibility.
  15. I agree 100%. I think we might have seen some of Corral towards the end of the season if we were out of contention, but other than that, the only way he was going to see significant playing time this season was due to injury.
  16. Probably a technicality, but Corral isn't actually on IR yet.
  17. I read some articles on lisfranc, and best case scenario is he is out a minimum of six to eight weeks. But more likely 6-11 months. Probably out for the year, but I suppose we will learn more later.
  18. I disagree. I think he has just as much a shot today as he did a week ago.
  19. He is under contract. He should fully recover. So why would you think his career is over.
  20. The problem comes if Baker is not a flop, but not great, ie he is somewhere in between. Then we have to decide whether we draft another qb (assuming we can get one we want), or resign Mayfield, or something else.
  21. Depends on whether they are designated to return. And that was what I was referring to. Matt Corral suffers "significant" injury (panthers.com) But I looked up lisfranc, and it might be season ending. I was thinking of the attempt to bring Cam back from it, when they didn't put him on season ending IR for a while. But if its non operative, he could in theory come back in 8-10 weeks.
