I’d love Greenlaw

I’d say the first thing we need at DT is someone that can maul the run game. Do you think he’s more of an occupy 2 guys/push the pocket types? I watched less of other teams than ever this last year. I’m fine with someone that frees Derrick Brown up to be the wrecking ball but that’s a lot of money…Whoever that is. OR If we take Graham at 8 that’s 2 number 8 picks at DT. Which I’m fine with but we sure as hell be way better in the run game and up the middle pressure Thanks cheers!

I was talking about when the Bills first brought in Diggs. That’s when Allen skyrocketed. I said in the post obviously the D needs overhaul. Scoring touchdowns instead of kicking field goals and converting 3rd downs instead of punting helps too You can tell Canales is an aggressive playcaller. We’re going to take big shots. I remember a lot of great “almost” touchdown, chunk plays, and 3rd down conversion completions that should’ve been caught. Those can be as game changing as a turnover cheers!

One point, just playing devils advocate, is that since we gave up so much capital to get Bryce the most important thing for the Panthers to figure out is how good he is/high his ceiling can be. We’ve also seen Diggs to the Bills helping Josh Allen explode, Chase with Burrow etc. If we take TMac at 8 or whomever/however they try to upgrade it, are any of us going to be crying if we see it help Bryce make a big jump? Obviously our Defense needs big time help and overhaul but it could take a season or 2 for that to become a strength again. People are expecting a lot out of a largely rookie Defense to turn it around if we’re just going that route Happy Saturday cheers!

I don’t think it’s that he can’t I think it’s that him at end in 34 because a 34 NT needs to be probably 330(Haloti ngata) or under tackle in a 43 allows him to be more disruptive to the offenses. Do idea being Milton or a “true” NT will allow Derrick Brown and the passrushers to be their best

There’s a difference in going chip Kelly eagles version of trying to buy a ring which never works … but the injection of proven talent and experience into a couple of positions can work wonders. Our run D and passrush has been as bad as I’ve ever seen it. If they aggressively sign a defensive free agent or 2 I don’t think that automatically dooms us. Yes they have to draft better period

Depends. Thinking we’re fixing the defense with a bunch of rookies only isn’t logical though. Milton’s only 26 and helps our Dline immediately

BREAKING: Myles Garrett Requests Trade from CLE
poorboysrev replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
Or keep the picks and bring back Haasan Reddick. I think he’s a FA? Should’ve kept him instead of Burns anyway. He wanted to be here. And the NT free agent from Denver. Passrush and run D both shored up before the draft so don’t have to reach on need -
He’s very wrong ha. 34’s only work with a Haloti Ngata type DT. It’s impossible to have a passrush when you’re getting gashed for 9+ a carry. If he can’t evaluate that by the tape and adapt he’s not the guy. Send him back to Denver

CBS Sports grades week 14 performances

Exactly. Big red zone/big play/clutch play drops…draft a blue chip WR, see how high Bryce can elevate -
Andy looks like he could hold it down while a young QB learns for a season or 2…probably what they should’ve done with Bryce, though just looks like lack of NFL level ability at this point. Definitely looks like he understands the offense and can help our young offensive players develop

That’s what I’m talking about! Trade for reddick and let’s go for broke haha

Bryce got benched, but the problem is still the problem

I’ve seen guys getting open..hopefully now we can see if they can catch and be counted on -

I don’t know man if the broadcast was that bad the coaches film had to be a toilet bowl. I think DCs natural reaction is to be positive and not trash his player on game day. With Tepper you could absolutely be right that it’s 100% him. To me seems like the meeting last Monday between them was either one or both saying he looks like that next week or worse and we gotta cut the cord. Plus I’m just happy to not have to watch him play anymore, I felt bad for the rest of the players -

Oh yeah it definitely is. I thought we’d have to wait til week 4-6 at least. He just looks so historically bad I seriously think the team was about to revolt…I would’ve ha -

Bryce is unfixable…jimmy Clausen bad but smaller. What scheme you gonna put around him that works? Max protect and 5 yard curls that will get tipped half the time…they traded up and took the wrong guy. San Fran did the same with Lance. SUCKS but gotta be honest about what you’re seeing and cut bait. It gives me a little hope that DC had the cajones to make the move now. We’ll see, such a shitshow -

But do you really think he had free rein to say behind closed doors he wanted a different QB or was part of the prerequisite for getting the job at least to try with Bryce first? Seems reasonable seeing as Canales wasn’t scared to pull the trigger once Bryce showed everyone enough that there’s no doubt. Morgan and the Teppers were all there to pick Bryce over CJ and gave up a ton so I think had to be shown. The line looks better and I see WRs getting open. Get Canales a good QB and hopefully he’s allowed to do his job. Everything you said is true but we could have won Sunday with average QB play -
Right and Coach Speak 101 says you don’t announce a shred of doubt right up til you bench someone ha
-
I saw Bryce try to fuss at/talk to an oline man( Moton I think) after that horrible over the middle interception and the big man’s just looking at him like are f’ng serious right now…I’m sure thats felt teamwide
-
Right but if either was forced Bryce as their starter there is no way to coach around that unless you’re just gonna run the wildcat and wishbone offense. To me that’s the biggest issue. Teppers more worried about being right on Bryce than taking steps in the right direction. You can’t build a culture of competition when the number 1 guy can obviously be the worst on the field and the coach can’t sit him.
-
1 and 4 are the biggest reasons to me on there. Canales will lose the team if they don’t do/try something. We’ve been in position to draft Stroud over Bryce, Surtain jr over Horn (or Slater I do believe) Obviously could keep going ha. Draft position has not been our issue, scouting/decision making has been.
