Preseason Panthers v Texans official game day thread
L-TownCat replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Let’s go boys. Look sharp, no injuries. -
I’d guess the rookie’s success last year is bleeding into this year’s projections.
-
it’s for fantasy but still, t-Mac at 12 is pretty cool to see.
-
Solid hit, not sure why the Texans got aggro? Seems like some soft ass behavior.
-
Can he kick?

Panthers playbook Cox and Rhea review of the game
L-TownCat replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thats a good counter point but to counter the counter I would say in previous years the staff couldn’t find a rookie that could even compete with the trash roster we had. Your point is still very much a valid one tho. -
My hope for an ending to the musical chairs at kicker is waning

I’d give the rookie a little more time. It’s a different ball he’s getting used to. We’ve got rookies everywhere else might as well have one as a kicker. -
JC Horn talks about receiver imposible to cover and not TMac!
L-TownCat replied to Doc LRB's topic in Carolina Panthers
For a UDFA, he matched the production of our 1st round pick on less targets. Agreed, that’s not saying much but in that context it says a lot. -

I understand the sentiment some of you have for trading AT, but I don’t think the team shares your views. He’s literally Bryce’s security blanket. The chemistry between the two is evident and well documented. The last thing the staff would want is to remove the most comfortable target Bryce has. Its not a bad idea to try and snag a mid-late round pick for Adam, it’s just not worth the risk of setting Bryce back in his already slow development. -

I’ll be damned… it’s football. -
Sounds like a fun day. Keep it up boys.

Anger/Fire = they care This is a good thing.

Ain’t he the one that told Tepper he was gonna break his pockets in a few years during the draft call?

Something I noticed when researching Mello Dotson
L-TownCat replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Didn’t we hire a PFF guy or something? I think I remember folks pointing that out when PFF said we had the best draft. -
The good news is, the best way to make linebackers look good is by having a good D-line. While we haven’t seen them on the field yet, the consensus is the group is vastly improved from last year. If the Linebackers can be average, they’ll look even better behind the revamped line they’re “backing”.

In this new era of basketball where teams are scoring 120+ on the regular, the best way to improve your “defense” is by maximizing offensive efficiency. This roster is much better suited to do that than any in recent memory.

Noah Fant? "Perfect fix?" More like imperfect fix.
L-TownCat replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
I put sanders at TE2 because they want him to play lighter and split out wide more. Tremble and Mitchell will be the traditional blocking TEs. -

The issue is who does he push down the depth chart? When tremble comes back he’s TE1 and Sanders is TE2. If we sign Fant are we ok limiting Sanders development and basically keeping the rookie we drafted off the field? -
I mean 1-6 the WR group is pretty good. All 6 won’t see the field at the same time. I’d say 3 WR sets or less a majority of the time if our commitment to the run game is to be believed. With that said, the o line is our strength. Behind that we have a RB room with 2 1000 yard rushers. Personally I think both groups are “better” at this time. And if we’re only going 2-3 players deep the Corners have an argument for being a better unit than the WRs as we currently sit. tl;dr Another lazy article by the world wide leader in sports…

I can count on one hand how many times I’ve even looked at Reddit. I’ll pass.

As a veteran of the Huddle, I really miss fat Alice and some of the other trolls. We had some good times. We used to have some heavy hitters here on the huddle before it got so watered down to protect the fee-fees.

Guys that will either make or break our Young Quarterback!!
L-TownCat replied to Doc LRB's topic in Carolina Panthers
The offense has no excuses to be less than good. The defense is still a massive question mark until they step on the field. Bryce can’t play defense.
