  1. Defense: I expect them to be little more than a speed bump, and that’s fine. Doesn’t bother me. Get the young guys some experience. See if somebody makes a play or two. Try not to give up 50. Offense: Run the ball, work play action, take some shots downfield. Clean up the penalties and protect the ball. I’d like to see some creativity from Coach as well as some development on his part. Theme of the day: Growth. Let’s be smart, tough and keep pounding!
  2. Injuries suck but how can you be critical of these guys? We had little talent to begin with and the starting unit has been decimated. im impressed with what they’ve been able to do. I like the Horn/Jackson combo. Wallace has shown to be a tackling machine. The D-line is nothing but depth pieces. We just have to take our lumps this year. It is what it is.
  3. Fields in Pittsburgh is a prime example of what happens when good coaching is applied to mid-ass players. Makes them look good. Never liked Fields, never thought he was good, still don’t. I’d rather burn my draft picks on long snappers than trade for another running back with a spiral.
  4. The front 7 is abysmal. I’ll take average in the secondary if we can upgrade the front. We aren’t “set” at CB by any stretch but it’s fine the way it is until the other units are at least on par with them.
  5. We’ve had less than zero pass rush. Coverage can’t last forever. Mike has played well being the guy QBs are going to throw at instead of testing Horn.
  6. XL is gonna be fine. Wallace could be special if we can get some decent line play. 2 solid starters would make this a rare draft class for us. Brooks and Sanders have a chance to make this class an all-timer. Toss in Coker and it’d be something we’ve never seen before. 5 legitimate contributors from a single draft? Unheard of in Panther-land.
  7. This team has a serious lack of talent in almost every position. Our best players have little to no trade value. It looks as if we have a few decent pieces on offense to work with. Let’s try developing what little we have, backfill using Free Agency, then try to draft some studs. Now if another Dionte Johnson/Mike Jackson type trade should present itself then sure, but otherwise we need to be more frugal with our assets.
  8. If you’re still tuning in to see a victory, I don’t know what to tell you. The team is fairly competitive and miles better than anything Bryce ever did. I can actually watch the team again. I’m hoping now we can actually start to build something.
  9. The next draft or 2 needs to be spent on the trenches. Until you have that settled skill positions won’t even matter. (unless we get #1 then you gotta look at QBs… again)
  10. Meh… ppg are up across the league. Rule changes and an emphasis on more scoring is going to rewrite the record books anyway. We are bad, don’t get me wrong, but the “historic-ness” is less than advertised.
  11. He sure did. The league is funny that way. And as sad as it is to say, those teams had more talent to work with.
  12. You have to look at QBs, but I’d keep an eye out for pass rush options.
  13. Hurney used to IR half the roster in losing seasons to give himself an excuse. So I’ve seen numbers like it, but actual injuries… idk?
  14. He’s a rookie too. Hopefully he can identify it, understand it and learn from it. IMO he still looks like the best HC prospect we’ve had in years. Not to mention this roster wasn’t great to begin with and with injuries it’s down right ugly.
  15. Chubba toting the rock at a good 5ypc clip so obviously we start throwing passes to the flats that get blown up. Tremble got ktfo’d, Clowney hurt, XL hurt, game plan real sus.
  16. I’m still not upset with this team. The offense is having an off day and the defense is decimated by injuries. This poo happens. What can ya do?
  17. This defense is not capable of keeping this team in a game. The offense has to carry the load and they’re shitting the bed.
  18. While you do have some troll-ish takes, this is one time where I agree with your assessment. No matter the compensation for Dionte, we lose that trade 100/100 times. The better risk is tying to re-sign him and try to build with him.
  19. I understand the fear we can’t re-sign him and he walks while we get nothing…(as usual) but nobody is giving us a pick that could replace his production. A 3rd seems more than most would offer and that doesn’t help us any more than having him the rest of the season. His groin is more worrisome than trade rumors.
  20. My whole attitude towards the team has flipped. I was angry and jaded. Hypercritical and easily triggered at every little mistake because we didn’t look like a NFL team. We look like one now and I no longer feel anger when I see a mistake. I can accept it for what it is and look forward to the next opportunity. It’s like a switch flipped. I believe we’re on to something here boys.
