  1. still not sure about that whole corbett to center thing. we have to draft a guy.
  2. yeah i almost feel bad for him and his wife because they worked so hard to become a part of the community down here. oh well...moving on.
  3. sometimes a good thing is just a good thing. it's a good thing that happened. let it be just a good thing that happened. you know, until/unless it turns out to not be one. but just focus on the idea that this might just be a good thing for us and be glad it did. it's ok to enjoy things like this from time to time.
  4. i mean he could be. i don't know. i do think that the injury thing is overblown, though. that's not a concern i have. doesn't seem like anything he was dealing with would be long term issues.
  5. he could choose worse mentors. andy reid could benefit from canales some as well...but more as a personal trainer than anything.
  6. yeah, as good and as deep as this class is, there's going to be first level talent falling all through the second round...especially in the WR ranks.
  7. yeah i basically think of him as another thielen. quickest and easiest comparison.
  8. one thing that made matters worse was that we weren't just bad at developing talent, identifying talent, opting for athleticism over positional talent and drive...we actually thought each year we were ready to contend with just a few vet additions. we thought we were only a pick or two away from being really good. Once rhule got here and we started losing what dawgs we had here we needed a rebuild. there has not been a long range vision for the team in a long time, i mean aside from rhule's "7 year plan" to change the culture, which he did in one year by completely destroying what culture we had. they finally realize they are starting essentially from ground zero, especially on offense, and are acting accordingly, and are realizing that you build through the draft and fill holes through FA.
  9. i hope he wasn't. should be a much better situation for him this year (w/ improved coaching and scheme and overall passing game), but he's probably going to have a lot more competition for targets, which he should. he just needs to be a threat to catch the ball when it comes his way and make some good positive yardage. use them muscles.
  10. whole bunch of nothing here. i just hate that i spent any time watching macafee. i swear that show kills IQ points.
  11. i don't think he'll be unreasonable and he has demonstrated his worth far more than burns. i have no doubt that this will be a top priority, but it's nothing that needs done right now. as long as they are having good discussions and are in the same ballpark i think we are good. with burns, i don't think we were ever on the same continent with him.
  12. now as to why ladd is highly regarded...i think it's just because he's quick and a safe option to throw to. he's seen as a reliable option for any QB. nothing particularly dynamic about him other than that. actually he just seems like a good boring but reliable WR. won't get much as far as TDs and probably won't produce much in the way of highlight reels, but between the 40s he'll be solid. i kind of think that he might be hyped a little too much, but i wouldn't hate it. he can get open, get some separation, and catch passes. we kind of need that. i wouldn't be content with him being the only WR we take in the first 4 picks, though. get someone like Leggette or some other big X receiver who can also high point balls and give us a red zone threat. mingo has the potential to be that...but i'm not going to bank on that or use him as an excuse to not get another X receiver. we just need guys with reliable hands who can either get open or fight for the ball and win. gimme two or three this draft and i wouldn't hate a big TE getting added, either.
  13. @csx @TheSpecialJuan csx i hope that was an accidental typo and i'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but if it wasn't and for the special kid and for anyone else...don't even start with the race poo or you will get some time off.
  14. People always told me that there were two inevitable things in life....death and taxes. I disagree. The rich can find a way to avoid it avd those who have nothing have no reason to pay taxes. It's not inevitable to some There are two inevitable things in life, though...death and toilets. Everyone will die and everyone has to poo.
  15. 1) that's all subjective. You don't like a team for whatever reason you work the system and manipulate the process giving your kid an unfair advantage. Sorry, there's no way you can frame it that would make it ok. Why don't other former players do this for their kids? Because they know it's wrong. Pure and simple, it's wrong. 2) the NFL is a completely different situation. The kids don't go to work for the teams initially. They go to work for the NFL and the rules are there for all players entering the league through the draft and it absolutely should be applied and held to unilaterally regardless of who someone's dad is. Would I meddle with the process to get my kid in a better situation? Hell no, because regardless of any situation the fall into, they will have made it to the top abd should be proud just for that fact and should take pride in just being admitted to the club where they stand to make more than any other members of mine or any other family could ever hope for. It's just not right and it shouldn't be.
  16. it worked out for them, which is just proof that the world works in favor of the privileged. i could give a rat's ass what his dad had to go through. it should not have been a factor.
  17. but that's now how it's supposed to work. i have no problem with a player being choosy with where he goes as long as he has earned that right through play, just like the big contract. the draft isn't supposed to be treated like free agency where the player can pick and choose where he goes. it's an exception made for the privileged and it isn't right....hence the entitled prick. my daddy is important and he says i don't have to play by the same rules everyone else does. gimme what i want!
  18. whether he's worth the hassle of dealing with his crazy dad.
  19. correct move for who? the entitled prick who got his way? is that how it's supposed to work?
  20. that's why he's going to only have a few takers and even then, it will likely be only the most desperate of situations.
