  1. people who make these comments aren't thinking about brockel. this isn't a case of ward vs. tolbert. this IS a case of ward vs. brockel (if there is a limit/quota on positions). i agree with this. considering the asset ward would be to not just the run game but protecting cam, i can see his value being greater than some of the more fringe depth players.
  2. i guess they improved a little, but i doubt it's enough to shift the balance in their favor against us. we improved quite a bit as well. we should still run the south.
  3. i have a friend that taught in Turkey for a couple years and went to a KFC there. he saw something called chicken sauce on the menu and the person behind the counter said you dip your chicken in it. they couldn't explain what it was but said that it was popular there and here in the states. he ordered it and found out that it was gravy. they don't have mashed potatoes there, but for some reason they had a lot of gravy and just used it to dip the chicken in. he said it was good, btw. i think it's still KFC and would be nasty regardless of where it was.
  4. dude need to be hit with a big suspension. put him on that exempt list, goodall.
  5. that year's draft was a nightmare. one of a few we had. hurney always did well with frst rounders, except when he traded them away like a moron. the rest of the draft picks.....ugh. so glad we've got gettleman now.
  6. i really hope they can find some way to keep ward on the roster. i really think he could help out with the run game and pass pro.
  7. oh poo this had me crying. laughing for a couple minutes then i catch my breath then it started all over again. i don't know how many times this conversation has happened beween me and my wife. i told her it's natural for me to feel like that. here's my proof.
  8. we get peanut. they get sherrod. seems we always get the better end of the switching off between us and them.
  9. the team needed some fire in their practices. glad to see this, tbh.
  10. no need for that. he's got just as much access and doesn't have to answer to corporate mental midgets. not sure how he or we would benefit from him getting employed by some newspaper. sure, his readership might see a little uptick, but it's growing just fine as it is and he gets 100% of the control.
  11. i like the list. i can see us going with just 5 on the 53 man roster and your top 5 being them. they just have to decide whether having a vet WR presence on the roster is worth losing one of the top 5 WRs or someone else on the roster. i know they can learn a lot from cotchery being on the field, but i think they'd learn enough as they go.
  12. it won't be long before he gets HC offers and i wouldn't be surprised if he takes one.
  13. do we need anyone? tolbert is a multitool. good blocker. good receiver. good RB. where he excels is in short yardage situations. the guy is a flat out beast. we have a couple options that can be on the field at once for short yardage/goalline situations. you put him, cam, and 3 6'5 guys on the field and there's no reason you can't put that ball in the end zone. then you add an OL that can block and another roadgrading FB back there and and it's a TD waiting to happen.
  14. taking brockel's place. we need what this guy can bring. he won't be just an asset to the run game, he's also very good in pass pro. he's essentially a 6th guy on the OL. i hope he sticks. the guy is incredibly impressive at what he does and we need what he brings.
  15. i think that trio with olsen is going to be one of the more dominant receiving corps in the league for years. i can't wait to see them all in action.
  16. as long as we have ron deciding to be paddleboat ron instead of riverboat ron at points in the season and as long as we have shula running the offense, i'm going to be worried about coaching decisions. also, i don't know about the guy filling in for dehaven so that's a worry as well. i think, tho, that we have the personnel to overcome some poor decisions from the coaching staff. i do also believe that some coaching decisions can really handicap what is done on the field as in it doesn't matter who we have on the field if the guys in charge are preventing progress from taking place.
  17. wouldn't want him to be corrupted by bspn. but as far as a reliable source of info and solid analysis, i think i would say he had replaced david newton, but that would be under the misguided perception that newton had been one at one time.
  18. still don't know why anyone pays attention to david newton. good writer but doesn't know poo. dude is worse of a source of info than person.
  19. wondering tis myself. the biggest criticism that jeremy had was that hill never kept his eyes on the ball, they were always on his hands or where he wanted to go. is that something that improved?
  20. it won't be one reason. in no particular order and imo, cam being healthier and more mature (more savvy)OL not sucking and buying him some time and roomincreased no huddleaddition of the funch, KB with one year under his belt, return of ginn, better idea of what corey brown can do for you.cam getting to work with his receivers more than last year.RBs healthy and more able to do something becase of increased OL playdefense not taking a step backwardSTs not being a liabilityriverboat ron doesn't make his annual reverting to paddleboat ronthere's probably more, but that probably about covers it. everything going well helps cam out and makes him look better. if things don't go well for the team, its somehow going to be seen as cam's fault.
