  1. depth guy. we need starters, but we also need depth as well. checking that box.
  2. it seems like every year i have had to work to get excited about everything that is happening. i honestly felt really good about the coaching situation...frikkin dream team my ass. but what we did in adding to the team was pretty meh. this year, even though we lost a couple pieces that hurt, i REALLY like the guys that we've gotten and the direction we've taken. seriously addressing the interior OL? i mean you can do that? we haven't had guards we can be proud of in a long time. I trust Morgan and Evero with picking out defensive guys, especially if they are getting input from Capers still. SO far i'm digging what little we've done on offense as well. i just can't wait to see what else they can get done.
  3. not sure what i think about this strategy. in one way i absolutely love it because of what it does to the trenches. of course we get our center for the next decade. and we also get our edge set with darius robinson. so that's two huge things. last couple days i've been flirting with this idea of getting also T'vondre Sweat just because i love the idea of DL that consists of Brown at 6'5 320 lbs, A'Shawn Robinson at 6'3 320lbs, and then Sweat at 6'4 366lbs in the middle...and then either rotate or add shy tuttle to the line in goal/short yardage situations. can you imagine the headache that would give OLs? plus, with Sweat, it gives us options with Brown we wouldn't otherwise have. but then there's the playmakers. i'm just not nuts about washington and baker and erick all the way i am other pass catchers. i think they could be good, even really good, but i would just hate to miss out on these guys at the top. i'm a carson steele fan so i'mfine there. he'd give the run game the violent punch it needs. this strategy would need a couple extra earlier picks to get an upgrade with the pass catchers, but then we might miss out some of the trench beef we'd be adding.
  4. stupid people late to the party trying to get some attention not aware that it isn't as bad as they thought. lazy attention whores jumping on a wave after it's reached the beach.
  5. he's trying to get them under the cap. before mike williams departure they had to generate over $50mill in cap space if they even wanted to pay for a draft class. everything they've done, including some pretty big restructures and pay cuts from mack and bosa have been trying to keep their team afloat. not sure how far off they are from where they need to be.
  6. reddick was a guy that wanted it. burns was a guy that wanted to pretend he was spiderman.
  7. has he learned or is he learning? i guess that's the question...or another one. if so, just what is he learning/has he learned? as it pertains to the panthers, i guess the question doesn't matter. we're either stuck with a team going nowhere or we get to watch a team get better. if it's getting better i couldn't care less about the owner. if it's going nowhere, i'll go back to "i couldn't care less" about the team
  8. same. we've got to see a few situations where his presence is not seen or heard before we know if he's learned and changed.
  9. no doubt, burns was a stud. the problem was we just didn't see much evidence of it. it could be blamed on several factors, but what we saw more consistently than him being a force was him not giving a complete effort. the result of that was his production last year was below what it should have been. some might get caught up in the mindset that we need to replace what Burns was capable of. That would be nice and we might pull that off in the draft. the truth is, Burns supposedly half-assing it resulted in 8 sacks. but then you look at his career. only one year has he lived up to his supposed potential...2022 where he got 12.5 sacks. the rest of his career (in reverse) it's been 9, 9, and 7.5 Are there other contributing factors? yeah....sure. but he's never been a top 5 rusher. he's only been a top 10 rusher once, and there were 2 others with 12.5 and 7 others who had more than him. and he's supposed to be a sack specialist. there's all kinds of excuses we can give why he didn't do more, but others who show up in the top five or ten have reasons for not showing up there as well, but they do. basically it boils down to this, we aren't replacing what burns is capable of. we're going to replacing an ok edge with another ok edge.
  10. And we're making the team better because of it
  11. Interesting angle. Hopefully it plays a role.
  12. 10 hours late in a thread they started because they didn't see the other 5 that were already there in the front page.
  13. Some kind of hot take he's got there. I wonder why no one thought of that?
  14. Stare would be more appropriate. Dudes like a bulky cobra.
  15. I think this is the beginning of phase 2 in FA with more bodies moving around but less $$. Hope so anyway.
  16. I'd like to see that compared to burns
