  1. the potential that is there if we had both is amazing. not expecting much in the way of effort from either, though. i would like to have them both and be surprised. worth a shot.
  2. i have a lot of family from up there as well, but i grew up hearing it when i went up there. they were all country folk who didn't live near any big cities at all so that might be it. i've actually heard that some in a couple counties in NC and some in VA as well. very rare, though. up there i head it a lot.
  3. trade 2 first rounders for a top WR? no thanks. trade 2 2nd rounders for a top WR? Also no...not this year. we need as many good player as we can get to fill out the ranks. we can worry about getting elite players later. plus, talent is so good and deep in this WR class that guys we could get in the 2nd and maybe even third round would have been selected a round earlier every other year. only trading i want on draft day is moving back to get more picks, but right now i'm digging having 2 2nds.
  4. Do they run the show? Assistant can advise, but the boss is going to do whatever the boss wants to do. It's not like they were co-GMs or anything. I've had several bosses who I really didn't like decisions that they made, but it wasn't my job to like what they do. My job was to help them accomplish what they wanted to do. I brought stuff to the table that made me valuable to them, but they were going to do what they wanted.
  5. Haven't really heard of him aside from someone mentioning in him in here as a prospective, but the guy is a dawg. I like it. Intercepted Mahomes twice in one game I think.
  6. @TheSpecialJuan paste...then wait and let the magic happen...THEN hit submit. it's sooooooooooo easy.
  7. the draft has some good options that can help with that. we can address all of them. not completely solve them, but we can get young players with the potential to. if we can get either darius robinson or trice in the 2nd round, that would do us a lot of good.
  8. I think Evero is good enough to take the parts he has and make something work and I think Morgan knows enough about defensive players to help give Evero solid parts to work with. We won't have the worst D in the league. I'm not sure about a lot, but I feel good enough about Evero and the personnel options that will become available that we won't be at the bottom. Of course I could be wrong about all that.
  9. Morgan was part of a group led by a bad GM (that we didn't realize was so bad at the time) that thought it was a good idea at the time based on what they thought we were capable of. You ever have those moments where something seems like a good idea at the time and then, after you step in it, you realize that it was a dog poo decision? That's how you learn. You step in poo and decide that is something you don't want to do again. But after you step in dog poo and realize you should do what it takes to avoid it, you still have to deal with the poo already on your shoe. That might mean getting up close and personal with it and scraping it off. It stinks, and it's nasty and it's something you really feel disgusted doing, but you do it anyways because it has to be done. That's what we did yesterday, not that burns is dog poo. The situation was. It sucked that we had to do it because we stepped in it, but it had to be done and now we hope we've learned a we move forward.
  10. Meh....this isn't the personnel he's going to be starting the defense with. Silly to act like it. Evero wants to show his worth and why he should have a HC job? Help rebuild it and take what he gets heading into the season and make it respectable. Prove you are the guy that can walk into any tough situation and make it work.
  11. That's a hard truth right there. Ouch.
  12. Our ceiling is the Superbowl and our basement is winless, just like every team....every year. And just like all but one or two teams, we'll fall in between those two points somewhere and I don't have enough info to go on to get a good accurate gauge of where that might be because it's only the beginning of free agency and there a lot of off-season and then regular season stuff to happen. As far as the direction...it looks like they taking the OL seriously in a way that I've never seen here. That tells me they are serious about protecting the QB and serious about running the ball. Because they are serious about running the ball, you could also probably guess that they will also work to get a good strong workhorse RB or two in here... hopefully though the draft. In working to protect the QB, you could also probably be moved to think that it's all about making it easier for the QB. If that's the case, then you might be moved to think that we're also going to be adding a couple pass catchers. Probably one more through FA and then maybe a couple in the draft. Focus, though, is going to be on offense. 2nd focus will be on giving Evero the parts he needs to make something work on defense. We lost a few parts, but the good news is there is a LOT of time to get good (not elite, but definitely good) players. Good for us in getting those players is not only do we have a great defensive couple of minds running the D. We also have someone who was a great MLB for us who knows defense and knows how to spot talent based on work he has done elsewhere. Blame for the clusterfug we had last couple years falls on Fitt who made the calls...not Morgan. And just because those two were friends doesn't mean there's hive think going on. I have some brilliant friends who aren't made dumber by me being around and I have idiot friends who aren't made smarter by me being around. I do my own thing. They, the brilliant and the morons, do their own thing. Fitt fugged up and made some bad decisions that hurt us and put us in some horrible situations that crippled our ability to do things without feeling like we got fugged. I just hope that Morgan can take the chicken poo Fitt left us with and throw it in a casserole dish with a few items from dollar general that I can add some old bay and Tabasco on and eat without puking.
  13. Lol I don't know. That's the point. Bad poo can happen. But also good poo can happen. (Sorry for the rant that's coming which is more than you asked for and not aimed at you. Coffee just kicked in). We are in March. These are the first days of the off-season and we're all freaking out acting like the regular season starts fuggin Sunday. Last year we had a really bad coaching staff. But at this point last year who knew it would be that bad? Nobody. We have a new HC. Is it possible that it will be just as bad as last year? Yep. But is it possible it will be better in than last year? Also yep. Do we know which it will be? Nope. No one does. No one. I've reached a point where I'm done trying to predict what is going to happen and just put my energy into what I hope will happen and maybe allow myself to be a little naive. Why? Because I'm tired of feeling like crap about this team. Canales is a guy who I think can turn poo around here. I'm a fan Morgan fan and I feel like he can right some wrongs made by his old friend. Making those corrections can hurt but if we get better in the long run it will be ok. So how many wins do I think we'll have looking from this point? I don't know and no one does? How many are we capable of? I don't know and no one does. Why? Because lots of poo can happen in the 6 months before the season starts and then lots of things can happen in the 4 months the season is going on. We act like we're experts in here but we're all idiots. Ok...maybe that's just me. I'm an idiot. I'm just old and honest enough to know that.
  14. It's all tiny windows. Not that much of an advantage. You'd have to get used to it and adapt no matter who you are.
  15. Place holder and future backup for the one we draft.
