  1. i love venison. i used to get 2-3 deer a year. got to be too much work, but i processed everything myself. i would make a bunch of jerky, do some shoulder roasts, and get a bunch of ground meat. we would sneak it into a lot of stuff. well...not really sneak it. we just wouldn't say anything about it. those who were used to eating it knew. those who weren't, didn't have a clue.

  3. give it up. no affiliate links. i'm just going to delete all your accounts

  4. What you got against spreading Christmas cheer? I'll be praying for you.
  5. Good comparison. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I ate it. It was really good though.
  6. I think the texture really reminded me of pork. It was fried with a lot of salt and pepper, I do remember that. This was 20+ years ago.
  7. I've had a good bit of squirrel over the years. I love squirrel gravy. I used to raise rabbits. They tasted like chicken for sure. My wife and kids could never get into it, though. Probably didn't help that we'd take Easter pics with the bunnies and then a couple months later I was harvesting them and putting them in the freezer.
  8. I ate a lot of stuff in Arkansas that didn't taste like chicken that people said would. Frog legs did (I love them), but alligator tail and turtle didn't. Alligator was good, tasted like wild pork. Turtle tasted like swamp.
  9. Lol yeah one thing I do remember is that there was something greasy I ate....a greasy casserole blech..... and I always thought that was it.
  10. i kind of think that the media is actually digging this "woe is me" attitude the cowboys are having. makes them more interesting.
  11. i went to a small church potluck in the middle of arkansas once and after i got done eating, some old lady came up and asked how i liked the possum casserole. i asked the person next to me of she was joking. she wasn't. the thing is, i didn't know which thing i ate would have been it but she saw me get some.
  12. what a weird hijack of a thread.
  13. all that said, bucs will probably end up winning the division. i really don't see the falcons pulling it off. they are as much in meltdown mode as the cowboys are right now.
  14. even now the division is legit up for grabs and there's an, albeit slim, chance that we could win it. do we deserve to win it? nope...but neither does anyone else. right now we and the bucs are the toughest ones in the division. falcons are going to be losing more games. if we win out we could pull it off. it's not because of how "great" we are doing right now. it's more to do with just the division being so bad. i know some of you are saying we're still a couple years away from being able to win the division, but you aren't looking at how the rest of the division is doing and the shape they are in and right now it's looking like we are going to have the most momentum going into next year.
  15. Don't think mingo was an issue in that regard. Just dead weight that another team wanted and paid a hefty price for because they thought they saw something special.
  16. I think starting from the bottom of the hole they were in last year and climbing their way out the way they are together is what is going to be creating a winning culture. Tough times come, but when you start out in the tough times you'll better understand how to navigate every other time together. This struggle is the bonding experience needed to become a team that will be damn near impossible to beat.
