Miami Heat vs. Brooklyn Nets Playoff Series Thread

Recommended Posts

The Miami Heat led by LeBron James will face the Brooklyn Nets led by former celtics rival Paul Pierce. I expect a tough series with a lot of animosity but I just don't think Miami will lose to the Nets who could barely escape the raptors, a team Miami probably would've swept or taken in 5.

Starters

Heat:

Mario Chalmers

Dwyane Wade

LeBron James

Shane Battier

Chris Bosh

Nets:

Deron Williams

Shaun Livingston

Joe Johnson

Paul Pierce

Kevin Garnett

With them barely escaping toronto, i really think brooklyn would be lucky to see a game 6

Well seeing as how Toronto was a better team, we didn't escape them. We survived and kept fighting.

We play the Heat very well. Lots of teams do (except for one team I know of), because they play up because they're playing the champs. We swept them 4-0 in the regular season. But without home court, it'll be very hard.

The week-long rest for the Heat should be interesting. Rest your bones, yes. Get out of your zone? Perhaps.

Toronto wasn't a better team. Lol. The Nets have all veterans with playoff experience they were the heavy favorites in that series.

Sure they were. Better record, better seed, home court advantage, split the season series. Big deal, we have a bunch of old men playing for us. Why does that mean we're better?

I'm looking forward to this series.  Pierce and Garnett always bring the blood and guts for Lebron.

I want the Heat to win though.  Would be exciting to see a Wizards v. Heat ECF.

Heat in 6.

    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
    • They will still be a playoff team but they aren't contenders anymore IMO. They won't be able to spend like they have when they went to a SB and proved he couldn't carry a win at that level with a really good team around him. Now he is going to have to do it with less to spend around him. They just locked in to being a playoff bound team that's going to be a known speed bump for whoever will represent the NFC in the SB.
    • Hmm. I think he'll live up to it. Last year, about half of his team was on IR it seems, at one time or another. Year before, Super Bowl appearance. Year before that, playoff run after being third on the depth chart and being pressed into service. Is he one of the greatest in the game right now? Nope. No chance of that. Is he in the top 10 going into next season? Pretty good chance of that.  Would 20 or more teams in this league love to have the guy as their starting QB. Most likely so. He's a good QB who can implement his coach's game plan to a T and has both the confidence of and confidence in his teammates. That'll take you a long way in this league if you've got the right cast around you, and he does.
