Honestly it's just pure math as much as anything.

First off, obviously you can't interview everybody. But let's say you interview 30 players. Good job doing your due diligence, but you still only have 7 picks.

No matter how you slice it, the vast majority of the players you looked at will end up somewhere else. That's just how the numbers fall.
