Just a Thought: Frank Alexander for Justin Blackmon?

With our veteran leaders in Cotchery and Avant we could take Blackmon in and possibly turn his life around. Once he gets his life together and gets his head on straight he's easily a #1 WR and compliments Kelvin Benjamin very well. They're likely to release him anyway so why not offer them something before we lose out on him?

With Alexander being in Rivera's dog house to start the season, getting busted can't help that out too much. Plus with the addition of Ealy it makes Alexander expendable.

Thoughts?

Fair enough. It won't happen I just thought if it works out we stole him

I know the Panthers are doing thing a little different than in the past, but I really don't think Blackmon will ever get a chance here in Carolina.

I'd gamble on him next year if he's reinstated.  If he ever turned a corner with his behavior, he'd be a pretty dominant force.  Problem is those guys usually never get their poo together.

Two of the best wideouts in the league and they can't stay clear of the green leafy products. Such a waste. Jacksonville would never do it. Alexander would bring the them nothing that they can't get thru the draft.

    • And that makes you right.
    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
