  1. 1. Would You Pursue A Trade For Andre Johsnon

    • Yes, For The Right Price
    • No, He's Too Old

Cap hits mean nothing to the team he'd be traded to. New team would only be responsible for base salaries.

Still not going to happen but figured I share the info.

He's making $6.5 million in base salary this year. In 2015 that bumps up to $10.5 million, and $11 million in 2016.

If he does go anywhere, his deal will have to be reworked.

Uh you might want to take a little look at his contract and the salary cap hits.

Yeah I'm aware, you'd have to do some maneuvering around D-Will's contract (cut) and probably Graham's (doing a restructure) in order to be able to afford him this year.

However in the following years one of C.J. or Hardy won't be here so you are just replacing their contract with Johnson's.

Would you rather have that much committed to your salary cap on a soon to be 33 year old WR or a 27 year old dominant DE?

Yes that's a ton of money but I believe you're also going under the assumption that both C.J. and Hardy will be on the roster as well as D-Will.

After next year, DG will have created some nice wiggle room

I also agree, his deal would have to be slightly reworked to keep everything in the $10 million or under range.

I would love to add another talented WR, but the guy is turning 33, and it's just too much money to invest given his age.

We wouldn't have to pay the restructure, option, or signing bonuses. So that's 4.5m less the first two years and 2.5m less the last.

Off the base salary? Well that's a little more interesting then. Thanks.
