Yeah, so do I. Nobody gave a poo about those teams. Baron was a super exciting player back then but the team's popularity was plummeting & the city bad mother them right out of town.

Muggsy, LJ, Zo years are what everyone is taking about. That poo was over 20 years ago.

You spend all day trolling this board for arguments.

You do realize that in the 2001 playoffs we were one win away from a advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals... do you not?

That malaise in the fan base was really only the last year at the most.

They were Bobcats level irrelevant in'02, but the decline in popularity started several years prior to that. Andt wasn't about winning, they were actually better at the end and much more consistent.

You're too young to remember...

The Eastern Conference was hot garbage at that time. The Hornets were 44-38 that year. They were basically this year's Bobcats. If Big Al hasn't gotten hurt and they didn't choke against Boston, Charlotte would've likely pushed Indy to 6 or 7 games in the 2nd round.

Big deal. '01 Hornets or this years team would've been swept in the conference finals. Yeah, they were 1 win away, but do you really think they were anywhere near the level of the '01 Lakers? Lol... They were an average team.

I'm not to young to remember because my family had Hornets season tickets. In fact I remember more than most.

And what you failed to mention that up until 2005 there was parity in the NBA, every team had a chance to beat every team and the NBA playoffs resembled the NCAA Tournament with all of the playoff upsets.

And lol at comparing past teams to future teams. If you want to do that then you might as well go ahead and mark the Heat down as a sixth seed in the Jordan, Bird, and Magic era.

This is the most rediculous thing I've seen on this board yet, and that saying a lot. Were all fans here why argue over something so stupid. All that matters is they're the hornets again. He can be a fan of whoever he wants. Stop trying to poo on someone because of they're age. I remember doing that in elementary school for Christ sake.

You really think the likes of Baron, PJ, & Paul Silas could've hung with Kobe, Shaq, & Phil?

Lmao... Homers gonna Homer

The Lakers are in the west bud, we wouldn't have had to play them until the finals. We were one win away from the ECF's not the Finals

Also a Kings team of Christie, Webber, and Bibby, and Divac were a rigged game away from beating the Lakers in 02. So once again, I point to the parity of the league saying that anything was possible at that point in the NBA.

And the shitty Wizards were 2 games from the ECF this year. Big freaking deal.

No poo the Lakers are in the west. If the Hornets were in the west they would've been smacked around in the first td.

You're trying to spin the "1 game away" like they were a great team & legit contender. They were not.

You obviously have never heard the moniker, "it's not how you start but how you finish." The New York Giants won both of their Super Bowls because they believed in that statement.

The same goes with being the sixth or seventh seed in the NBA Playoffs. Ask any player and they will tell you that the season starts over once the playoffs begin because everyone has a chance.

Also again with the hypotheticals... you could build a house with all your 'if statements'. Well I live in a world where facts are the only thing's that matter and the fact is, the Hornets were one win away from the ECF's in 2002 when apparently the team "sucked".

Just do everyone a favor and leave because if you don't I'm going to go ahead and tell you what's going to happen. Everyone is going to block you and you will be playing with yourself because of your piss poor attitude about the rebrand.

With that said, have a good day.

    • Yeah. That start to his career was about as bad as it can get. In New York, Meat grinder press corps, of the first degree,    When he came here he was on OC 3 - in year 3.  And people in this fan base that think they are smart, could not take that stuff into account.  Now, most of the smart ones are not Bryce Stans but Bryce gets 4 damned years free pass. At least 3  The fail of the organization AND fan base in general, fuging shamefully short sighted,  And the choking thing, players have to fail before they succeed. With very few exceptions. Last year was really his first meaningful, high stakes game. Okay, he didn’t play well. They learn from that, or are supposed to. You don’t throw out a guy with all those tools and with his rocky did him no favors background for not being perfect right away.  He might suck in the SB, but he proved a ton this year.    If we’d have had any patience he was the guy to use it on, not Bryce Young.
    • Darnolds OC when he was drafted was Jeremy Bates who was fired. He hasn’t had an nfl job since then. his next head coach was Adam gates who was fired after two years and isn’t in the league anymore. then he gets traded to the Matt Rhule panthers. His first OC was a hired WAY too early Joe Brady who was fired midseason and basically had to restart his career as a get back coach in Buffalo. then it was Jeff Nixon, who’s currently the head coach for Syracuse. the next season was the best he’d ever looked, and it was the first time he had an actual nfl offensive coordinator calling plays for him. The less said about Matt Rhule the better. then he sits a year and ends up in Minnesota and the rest is history. maybe he just had poo awful coaches for the start of his career. Maybe we should be trying to find someone who flamed out on the jets. one who’s a religious weirdo  and likes to bang married women  that’s right baby, Zach Wilson redemption tour starts now
    • Your last paragraph, painful. We suffered it all with Rhule and Fitterer and were rewarded with Bryce.  I’ll stop there, I have made hundreds of posts that say what I would say if I continued. 😂
