Fried pickles

bunch of Manny's in this thread.

Modern Family reference? Nice

I honestly didn't expect this many people to be so anti-pickle. I eat them straight out of the jar as snacks half the time. As for fried pickles, they're delicious...and chips are superior to spears.

Why is everyone so anti-spear? Is there a taste difference?

The breading to pickle ratio is totally out of whack with chips.  Spears give you enough fried goodness without being overwhelmed and forgetting that you are actually eating a delicious pickle as well.

Breading/Pickle Ratio:

Chips 1.1/1

Spears 3.2/1 (which we all know is 2x the golden ratio so it's obviously 2x as awesome)

It's science.  No need to argue.

Mmm hmm. And, if you are so inclined, you can pour a thin line of ranch along the entire length of the pickle spear, ensuring yummy goodness in each bite. You can also fold the spear like a taco and use it like a spoon to scoop out more ranch than you can on a chip.

Spear>>chip

Don't get me wrong, I won't discriminate against a good spear. But for ease of eating/sharing/dipping, chips win. Not to say there aren't over breaded chips out there, but when done correctly, they're better.

I also am sad for my life that I'm this serious about fried pickles.
