We need to do whatever we need to do to get a deal done with Lance. He has the attitude and scoring ability we need and has playoff experience. He is young as well. I love PJ but he does not need to start day 1. Good dephth is what championship teams are made of. Get lance, a good backup pg and a good bsck sf and call it an off season. Well trade hendo too

Wonder what it takes to get Jeff Green from Boston? Could start at PF as a stretch 4. Defense and rebounding is no worse than Mcbob. Brings needed scoring and outside threat. He can also get minutes at SF.

Sign Lance and Jemeer. Trade for Green

Kemba / Nelson / Pargo

Lance / Neal / Hairston

MKG / Taylor

Green / Zeller / Vonleh

Al / Biyombo / Bachynski

LeBron's agent supposedly talked with Phoenix, Cleveland, & Dallas. It's a shame Michael hasn't called them if they're willing to talk to teams like Phoenix & Cleveland. Charlotte would be a better fit than any of those teams or Miami. Get rid of Henderson & clear enough space to their the max at him. Go into the luxury tax if need be, will have until next summer to get under it anyway. Our roster is literally perfect for LeBron & his point forward game. Nobody is a better fit for LeBron. We have cap space, a star center, good young PG, & loads of very young talent all over the roster.

Kemba Walker // Ramon Sessions

PJ Hairston // Gary Neal

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist // Jeffery Taylor

LeBron James // Cody Zeller // Noah Vonleh

Al Jefferson // Bismack Biyombo

That team would wreck the living poo out of the East for the next 5-6 years without even trying. And LeBron wouldn't be bashed for running to another team with Irving, Bosh, Melo, etc as being reported. He would be heralded & praised for lifting a crappy small market team to greatness. Nobody would recognize that Charlotte actually had great talent built around him perfectly. Michael Jordan is probably the biggest reason it will never happen, Bron Bron doesn't wanna play under the GOAT's shadow.

Phoenix is actually the best offer on the table in my view

Charlotte would be even better...

Doesn't have to go thru San Antonio, LAC, Houston, Portland, Memphis, OKC, etc just to reach the Finals.

... if Melo goes to LA & Indy loses Stephenson... LoL... Charlotte would walk blindfolded thru the playoffs.

In the end I think LeBron (max) & Bosh ($15mil) will sign with Miami, Wade will go elsewhere after being offered peanuts ($6-8mil) & then Miami will sign a couple of guys such as Deng or Gasol & then fill the bench with veterans.

In the end Wade's gonna get kicked out if Miami & have given up over $40mil in 2 years so LeBron can get more money & a better team around him. Such a good friend!

Wade will be in Miami before anyone else due to the history. He will retire a Heat player.

LoL...

Alonzo Mourning is the face of Miami, not Dwayne Wade

Atlanta traded Dominique Wilkins.

Boston traded Paul Pierce.

Portland traded Clyde Drexler.

Houston told Hakeem Olajuwon he was washed up & to go elsewhere.

New York told Patrick Ewing he was washed up & to go elsewhere.

Miami isn't gonna hang on to a bum player for sentimental reasons. They'll tell him to pack his poo & leave.

    • Congratulations do they know who the father is?
    • In my opinion Fitterer was probably right about not paying McCaffrey. Now not wanting to "pay RBs" in my opinion isn't something you want to set in stone, to me it all comes down to the individual.
    • Maybe I'm just not understanding, but everywhere that I have read says that signing bonuses go against the cap prorated by as much as five years. The following example uses Andrew Luck's rookie contract as an example. "Take Andrew Luck, the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. Luck signed a four-year contract with the Colts worth $22.1 million and included a $14.5 million signing bonus. Rather than a $14.5 million cap hit in 2012, the Colts spread out his signing bonus over the life of his contract. The hit against the cap would be $3.625 million per year over four years instead of a direct cap hit of $14.5 million directly in 2012. This gave the Colts more leverage and cap flexibility in signing other players." https://www.the33rdteam.com/nfl-signing-bonuses-explained/ I don't know why some of you think that signing bonuses aren't counted against the cap over the length of the contract, but whatever.   "The bonus with a signing is usually the most garish aspect of a rookie contract. Bonus is the immediate cash players receive when they ink a deal. It factors into the cap, but only for the whole contract duration, in terms of salary cap calculations. In the case of Bryce Young’s $24.6 million signing bonus, that’s prorated to approximately $6.15 million per season over a four-year deal. This format allows teams to handle the cap and provides rookies with some short-term fiscal stability, which is important given the high injury risk in this league." https://collegefootballnetwork.com/how-rookie-contracts-work-in-the-nfl/ I understand how signing bonuses can be a useful tool in order to manage the cap, and as one of the article suggests, signing bonuses may become important if you have a tight cap, but the bill is always going to come due. I'm not necessarily referring to you Tuka, but it seems to me that others simply don't want to understand that fact which is why they're reacting to what I'm saying negatively. How odd. In any event, I have a better general understanding of why signing bonuses are used now, and it's generally to fit salaries under the cap. Surely players, whether they be rookies or not, love a signing bonus because they get a good portion of their money up front. This in turn gives them more security and probably amounts to tax benefits as well. I also understand why teams would not want to use signing bonuses, particularly for players or draftees who have a higher probability of being gone before a contract even ends.
