lies. PJ can do ANYTHING on the offensive side.

You are severely overrating a player who has no professional experience, and got passed on for 25 other players. I will lol when Hairston shoots 25% from deep and everyone still blames Henderson for no apparent reason.

You haven't seen him play I see. Don't ever compare him to Hendo. That's as disrespectful as it can get. He was passed up because of his legal troubles and stuff he got into. Without that and if he would have played for UNC they would have damn sure won the Championship and he would have went top 10.

many people sleeping on hairston. dude is a straight baller and will do more than simply "contribute".

I just don't see how you can rely so much on the 26th pick in the draft. If I can have the 26th pick or Lance Stephenson, I'm taking Lance Stephenson. PJ Hairston is a decent shooter, with good upper body strength who is a popular guy that a lot of people like do the shots and plays he made at UNC.

However, he averaged a respectable (but not overly impressive) 35% from the three and 22 ppg in the D-League. No one really knows how much to look into D-League stats compared to college stats so it is what it is I guess. Regardless, rather he was the 9th pick or the 26th, rookies generally don't start right away.

Hairston deserves around 10-12 MPG and we'll see how he handles that and his off the court problems. Aside from that, let's not forget he is a rookie and a late first round pick. Not Kobe Bryant, not Lebron James and not Andrew Wiggins. We should not deliberately hold off on signing a talented free agent just because we have a guy who is popular and played at UNC.

Phew, Sorry for the rant

Kobe was the 18th pick.

1. I never compared him to Henderson

2. I've seen himplay a bunch of times. Back when he played at college my roommate and girlfriend were UNC fans and I watched plenty of their games. Plus I've watched my share of draft videos on him.

3. That's a very bold statement to make and there is no way to know that but you know what it proves? PJ Hairston would rather do a bunch of stupid poo then play college basketball for one of the best schools in the country and eventually move on to the NBA. That is not someone I want to cheer for or watch.

We could play the what if game all day.  I just graduated from UNC, so believe me I love PJ just as much if not more than most UNC fans.  But you cannot sit here and say he is better than Lance right now.  He hasn't played yet a single NBA game yet and he definitely does not have the handles/versatility that Lance has.  He COULD be better but we'll have to wait and see, I hope he kills it but he's going to have to earn it.

Kobe was the 18th pick.

Kobe was the 13th pick, but other teams didn't draft him before that because Kobe's agent wouldn't allow them to schedule workouts with him. He wanted to Kobe to go to a winning, big market team. Charlotte drafted him at 13 and Kobe refused to play there so they traded him on the night of the draft. Kobe would have gone top 10 if he and his agent agreed to workout for those teams.

Lol at not creating his shot.

I said he does not do so as well as Stephenson right now. Most of Hairston's drives are bee-lines to the basket. That usually doesn't cut it in the NBA.

Look, I hope that PJ is the second coming of MJ, but right now I would feel much better about not having to rely on a rookie (or Hendo) as our starter at SG.

You bash our new starting SG because what? Hes better than Hendo? Give him a break. I talked to him the other day and let him know how sickening you people are. He said he would love to shake the hands with each and every single one of you haters.

He isn't the starting SG yet, people aren't just going to bow down to him.  He's going to have to work just like everyone else, hell MKG was only 26mpg last year.  And I wouldn't consider saying lance>pj 'bashing' pj, he hasn't even played yet.

Everyone hates Bonnell now? I thought he was a favorite just last year.

I am not everyone. I have a natural disdain for arrogant "reporters" who think they have unlimited knowledge just because they have limited access to certain people.

Unless he's told something true, he's either just guessing or being used.

    • Yeah. That start to his career was about as bad as it can get. In New York, Meat grinder press corps, of the first degree,    When he came here he was on OC 3 - in year 3.  And people in this fan base that think they are smart, could not take that stuff into account.  Now, most of the smart ones are not Bryce Stans but Bryce gets 4 damned years free pass. At least 3  The fail of the organization AND fan base in general, fuging shamefully short sighted,  And the choking thing, players have to fail before they succeed. With very few exceptions. Last year was really his first meaningful, high stakes game. Okay, he didn’t play well. They learn from that, or are supposed to. You don’t throw out a guy with all those tools and with his rocky did him no favors background for not being perfect right away.  He might suck in the SB, but he proved a ton this year.    If we’d have had any patience he was the guy to use it on, not Bryce Young.
    • Darnolds OC when he was drafted was Jeremy Bates who was fired. He hasn’t had an nfl job since then. his next head coach was Adam gates who was fired after two years and isn’t in the league anymore. then he gets traded to the Matt Rhule panthers. His first OC was a hired WAY too early Joe Brady who was fired midseason and basically had to restart his career as a get back coach in Buffalo. then it was Jeff Nixon, who’s currently the head coach for Syracuse. the next season was the best he’d ever looked, and it was the first time he had an actual nfl offensive coordinator calling plays for him. The less said about Matt Rhule the better. then he sits a year and ends up in Minnesota and the rest is history. maybe he just had poo awful coaches for the start of his career. Maybe we should be trying to find someone who flamed out on the jets. one who’s a religious weirdo  and likes to bang married women  that’s right baby, Zach Wilson redemption tour starts now
    • Your last paragraph, painful. We suffered it all with Rhule and Fitterer and were rewarded with Bryce.  I’ll stop there, I have made hundreds of posts that say what I would say if I continued. 😂
