Anyone else watching? GOOSE BUMPS.

And hey, Arroz. Just saw this. Where in BK are you staying? Best spots are in Williamsburg.

Quite possibly the greatest moment of my life. I would easily pay triple to see that again.

We're staying just past the Manhattan bridge....on gold street.

We've been going to the lower east side every night.

Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Sandy Koufax, etc...

Derek Jeter is right up there with those guys in terms of on field greatness & name recognition. He is arguably one of the 15 or so greatest players of all-time. It's well-deserved recognition.

absolutely. not a Yankee fan but Jeter has earned it.

None of that contradicts anything that I said.  I gave him credit, I said he was one of the fifteen best players of the last thirty years, but not top fifteen all-time.

Wagner, Cobb, Speaker, Ruth, Hornsby, Gehrig, Williams, Foxx, DiMaggio, Musial, Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Henderson, Robinson, Schmidt, Morgan, Bench, Ripken, Bonds, Pujols

That is twenty-one off the top of my head and does not include pitchers (which you included in the original statement).  Adding pitchers:

Young, Mathewson, W. Johnson, Alexander, Gibson, Spahn, Koufax, Clemens, Maddux, Martinez, R. Johnson

At least eleven more.  I am sure that there are some I forgot as I just started at 1900 and did it from memory.  As I said, he is one of the top players of his time, but to put him in the top fifteen all-time, particularly when including pitchers, ignores a large chunk of history.

Nolan Ryan?

    • well, players dictating things only works if you have the right collection of players to dictate things.  and in all honesty, not sure if we can answer if we do or don't as fans given......there are no Thomas Davis types around that we know are actually about X and Y (based on years showing it).  Collective team is too new to us to know what these dudes are really about in terms of players carrying the burden of culture.
    • Moore can be put in one of the vet spots on IR. No one will be checking for him at the start of the season. But I would be very perturbed if we tried to go all Gettlemagic and stash an obvious talent like Horn on practice squad like we did Butker. If we can get through this year, next year it will be obvious Moore and AT will be gone, starting namely with AT's contract.
    • Culture change comes from the top down, not from drafting a 3 and no D guard. I doubt Lamelo is gonna take his cues from this 20yr old kid lol. If Brandon Miller couldn’t change the culture with how good he is and how much he hustles on both ends, Kon Knueppel sure as hell ain’t changing it. Ace Bailey by all accounts is also a great teammate and hard worker, btw, who was drafted by a team he supposedly didn’t want to go to yet he immediately bought in. And he’s got actual length and tools on both ends of the floor. I feel this pick is going to age like milk rather quickly.
