The PGA

Final Major of the season starts tomorrow.

Sure seems youth will be served with Rory, Sergio and Fowler all playing very well.

No Freddy Couples so I guess Furyk would be my early favorite.

And yes for the Haters Tiger will play in a great 3some with Michelson and Harrington but I don't expect his health to last 4 days.

Hope we have some great golf coming up.

Rory, Fowler and Garcia have certainly been the hottest for the last few weeks.

Phil was incredibly hot the last round at Firestone.  Would not doubt that someone like Stenson or Scott makes a run.  Not sure if the course sets up well for Bubba

Tiger couldn't walk when his back supposedly went out last week. He had someone else take off his shoes he was so unable to move. Days later, he's fine and will tee it up tomorrow...

... I'm getting used to seeing Tiger's game go south on the weekend and when the shots start going all over the lot, his back suddenly becomes an issue. Is the back causing his game to poo the bed or vice versa?

So.....anyone you're looking forward to seeing or a particular golfer you're pulling for at the PGA?

I'd like to see Kuchar win a major or 2. A well-liked, nice guy on the tour with a wicked sense of humor.

I really don't have a lot of "favorites" on the tour, one guy I pull for more than another. I enjoy watching the game and like to see the last couple groups on Sunday fighting for a win.

Sentimentally, I'd love to see some of the older guys make a comeback- Duval, Daly, Geoff Ogilvy, David Toms (who withdrew yesterday).

This morning the coverage is like this

Tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, Ricky, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, paired with Phil, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger, tiger.

some things never change.  It is the Tiger Woods Invitational it seems.

Wait, they just mentioned Padraig also

Jim Nance did a radio interview this morning on the BT,Tiki and Dana show and went on a complete rant about the coverage of Tiger. Basically said he was sick of giving interviews and being asked about Tiger when the real story should be Rory. It was quite awkward to listen to and although I understand his point, he came off like a real a$$hole.

Oh, I guess the coverage isn't on CBS, then it would be OK!

    • I mean, in theory Bryce could get over the hump. That aside, you have to know that due to the situation we are going to give him another year. From some perspectives, it just makes sense. I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with it, but it's not like the draft is chock full of franchise QBs. I'm thinking that only one, the consensus top pick, is destined to be the only one in this draft (and some people don't believe in him). All we can do is sure up the room with an FA (Pickett) and take a swing or two and hope (maybe the dawg Pavia). 2027 should bring better options if it comes to that.
    • Let's be honest here. We have one WR on this team that would be in the top 3 of ANY other team. And he was a rookie last year. I love Coker but he is an often injured UDFA. He wouldn't have even gotten a chance on other teams. The rookie injury would have bounced him around the league for the next 5 years until he stopped trying to make a roster. It's a numbers game for most teams and he would have (at best) been on some team's practice squad. But Carolina has been so devoid of talent at the position, that we didn't have much of a choice. Bryce leaves a lot of questions but to say he hasn't elevated anyone isn't true. No WR has left Carolina since he's started and did better on another team. Not one. And there are several to choose from. Coincidence? Maybe. Probably not.
