I remember not wanting to use the 1st pick in the draft on a QB, especially one who had little experience throwing the ball, especially in an NFL type offense.

I wanted to trade down and take Dareus because our DLine was porous.  Wanting Dareus rather than Newton, got me labeled as racist also.  No matter that just about every draft, I am all for trading down.  Guess I should have been a Patriots fan or something.

As it turns out, Dareus is not all he was cracked up to be and Newton seems to be coming along nicely.  I can be wrong, but at the end of the day, it is a football opinion.  It really ticks me off when guys go straight to something as poisonous as racism when attempting to talk football.  No evidence, just call em a racist.  No way in the world that Rummy is a racist, nor was his Dad.

If you happen to be critical of one of the Panthers and he happens to be black, you are saying that you deserve to be dumped on as a racist?  Because I disagree

No I'm saying that if you are calling your franchise qb fake when he has shown no fake tendecies in his time dealing with his teammates or fans then you deserve to be dumped on. I didn't even mention racist in any of my posts btw.

Guy started off saying he loves his QB, but damn, let somebody else have some of the limelight.

For this, he is a traitor.

Maybe it means the rest of you hate your rookie WR?  He does not deserve to be interviewed without having to share the camera?

See how stupid that sounds.

I think the catch he made was one of the most amazing I have seen in awhile.  To lose your balance and recover like that, especially at his height, was incredible.

All College guy was saying was, "share the camera".  It is a respect issue for some

A "toque" is a fancy canadian word for hat.  Down south here,  a "toque" is something shared among friends.

a toboggan is a knit cap.

Actually, in the Deep South, most people refer to them as "boggans".

Well, at least most people DID until the Great Yankee Invasions.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knit_cap

knit cap, originally of wool, though now often of synthetic fibers, is designed to provide warmth in cold weather. Many variants exist, with many names, such as (to)boggan (Southern American English) and stocking cap or watch cap (American English).

That is such a stupid point. Cam was there for what like 8 seconds? Boy Benjamin was really burning up inside because Cam took those 8 seconds of interview away from him. Damn I don't see why this should even be a damn issue. Jesus..

Sure you did

Own it

Honestly you coming in here and spewing your usual garbage like the world is all sunshine and rainbows and no one would ever harbor bigoted views is par for the course. You were the first one to pie the post that set this whole thing off, and you were one of the most vocal fans against drafting Cam at that time, so I pretty much don't take your opinion on this matter seriously whatsoever.

    • I hope not. 3rd-5th round QB's are historically awful. Most of the time that team is just drafting another QB in the first the following year. Look at the Saints, if they continue to suck this year they are just taking a QB. And if they do they just threw away a 2nd round pick that they just drafted. We did the same poo with Clausen, Greer, Pike, that guy we drafted a few years ago who is so irrelevant I forgot his name...  Just take a 1st round QB if Bryce isn't the answer and be prepared to live with it
    • This reminds me on Madden where you create an alternate uniform and the pre-recorded voice overs talk about how hideous your uniform looks. 🤣
    • There are people on this forum that just want to see a lot of passing yards....number go up. That's all it is, really. They are thirsting for a 350-400 yard game. The idea that Jameis Winston is going to come in and play like a star and lead us to wins is ludacris. He's the 3rd fuging string for a 2-5 team and has played horrible for years now. Sure, passing numbers will go up but you'll also get a lot of dumb plays, pick 6's, and incompletions en route to a frustrating bad offensive performance, just in a different way. I think these people are yearning for another Delhomme situation, and the odds of that happening are very very slim. It's way more likely Howell or Jameis comes in and looks like Jack Plummer or Andy Dalton did in the preseason. There just isn't that much good quarterbacking in this league right now. And if we draft another QB in the first round, there is a good chance they bust. It's not a guaranteed carrot. The reality is, as mediocre as Bryce has been, the risk of bringing someone else in in-season and releasing Bryce becuase you aren't happy with his current performance is staggeringly high. Don't want to re-up his contract and search for a solution in the offseason? Sure, I'm on board. Bryce hasn't been good enough to warrant a second contract. But It is very. very unlikely that bringing someone else in midseason is going to give this team more wins.
