In that case, Drew Brees will always be remembered as a Charger.

Afterall, he led San Diego as one of the best offenses in the NFL.

Brees, LT, Gates.

Perennial playoff team that has slipped off since losing them.

I'll make a note of that.

Brees will always be a Charger.

I'm guessing you're too young to have heard of the Dome Patrol, that's a shame.

He led maybe the best linebacking core in NFL history with the Saints, of course he will be remembered as a Saint.

He may be remembered as a saint but he has not been remembered by the saints. They were suppose to retire his number in 2005, but due to Katrina it never happened that year. Problem is that it was not done in '06, '07, or '08. Have they forgotten him?

You're showing your age. Sam Mills led a dominant defense throughout the late 80s and early 90s. Quarterbacks of that era still talk about facing the Saints back then and the pain associated with it. Brees merely led a good offense at San Diego for two years.

I know full well about the Saints LB corp. of the late 80s and early 90s.

What I don't understand us how you assume that a players first team is the team he's remembered for.

Is Brees a Charger?

Is Favre a Falcon?

Is Jake a Galaxy?

Mills' accoplishments are a reflection on himself, not the Saints.

But I wouldn't expect anything less than blind homerism from a Saints fan.

Just remember..there's a statue of the man in front of our stadium, he choose to coach here over NO..what has the Saints organization does for Mr. Mills or his family?

i think with mills, you have to look at him like Stephan Davis.

Davis had his best years as a redskin....but IMO he will always be associated w/the panthers for that great 03 season!

mills was apart of one of the greatest linebacker corps in NFL history as a saint.....but once again he will be associated w/the panthers for all the great things he did for this organization......which pretty much was define it!!!!!

keep pounding-Sam Mills!

No offense to my fellow Mills fans, because I think we can all agree he was awesome, but this thread is farcical. Mills was instrumental in turning a franchise from a 20 year perrenial loser into a year to year contender in NO, with not one losing season in the 8 he played here, and he was the leader of one of the NFL's most imposing defenses. He's beloved by every Saints fan that had the privilege of seeing him play, and he always will be. I'll never forget Mills running over to the 49er's bench in Candlestick and daring Seifert to go for it on 4th and short.

Now maybe what he did in Carolina as a coach holds similar value to your fans, but as a player I just can't see the congruency. What he did on the field for you guys, while great, will never, EVER overshadow what he brought to New Orleans. I'm sorry, but that's just the way it is. I hope you can eventually learn to share his legacy, but to pretend to own it is simply a farce.

And to the silly person making the Brees analogy - just knock it off already. Brees went from a team where he was gently pushed out of a starting job with the Chargers to elite status with us, as leader of the NFL's most explosive offense since his arrival. Try harder.

Aww..

Look!

A sensitive Saints fan!

I just took a trip down to NO, and don't worry, I understand, you Saints have no understanding of the world around you.

The city is sheltered, and smells like weed 24/7, so I can understand if your a little "high"

The fact of the matter is, the Mills family resides here.

The Mills family choose Carolina, to be where their legacy lies, over the dumphole that is NO.

Sam's son coaches here, as his father did.

What did the Saints do to honor him?

Even after he died he remained just an afterthought in NO, just one man on a field of 11 of what was once a great defense, here, he stands out.

He is special. Noone will ever wear a 51 Panthers jersey ever again.

Can NO say the same?

No..

All this is a typical Saints fan wanting anything decent to be associated with the Big Crappy.

BTW, is Brees a Charger?

    • I have more faith in XL improving than I do in Tmac being a true number 1 recuever
    • Round 1. TMac arguably the best WR in the draft Round 2. Scour ton mentioned as a possible 1st round edge.     Texas A&M did not use him the same way Purdue did. After the 2023 season he was listed as a first round grade. I believe had Texas A&M used him like they did at Purdue he never makes it out of round 1. Round 3 Princely Umanmielen, we'll go by Princely.  Another highly graded player we got in a lower round. As the video suggests, even if he plays only on passing down it's a positive. Give him a couple of years to develop a he could be a three down player.  Round 4a Etienne IMO a huge upgrade over Blackshear. I can see him in a similar role as CMC without the heavy workload. He can run in between the tackles and has some shifty moves. Give Canales some flexibility. A fellow huddler pointed out UGA running backs don't see the field if they cannot pick up the blitz. Really good pick. Round 4b Ransom a hard hitting safety that has played three different positions on defense. Great pick Round 5a Cam Jackson a massive NT in round 5. I believe a solid rotational pick in a lower round. We added a beast that could make offenses quiver when he's lined up with Brown. Great Value  Round 5b Evans This is another player that can block and has good hands. He also had better seasons before 2024. As a rookie he's probably leaps and bounds better than Ian Thomas. I think he gives us a three headed monster at TE.  Round 6 Horn Jr. Many believe he's just going to be a KR/PR player. I believe there are going to be packages for him to get on the field as a WR. His speed with TMac and Thielen in the slot could be special. I'm really looking forward to seeing him in training camp. I've watched some film and he is very explosive.  Overall I love our picks. I honestly believe all of them will contribute this season. I don't believe we reached on one player in this draft.  This weekend we get a small look at these rookies
