Not that much of a stretch he's only 29. At this point he's likely to contribute as much or more than Thielen at a fraction of the cost. -
For me it's the combination of the loyalty to two aging veterans paired with whatever is going on at linebacker. Just a little too much of the same old Panthers. I can't imagine this news about Jewell just came out of left field. I don't expect them to have corrected the linebacker room entirely but there's really no excuse to have allowed it to be this thin either.
