Numbers and exact offenses aside, there's no doubt that politicians have a higher than average scumbag ratio, and I'm talking all kinds of bad deeds and broken laws.

 

As for the NFL, considering the players are encouraged to go out and kick a bunch of ass to earn their pay, I don't think the percentage of domestic violence incidences are as high as you'd expect from such a violent profession. Unfortunately, the league is under the microscope and that's not likely to change any time soon.

 

If I borrow the term "scumbag ratio", do you want me to cite you?

Is DV a problem in the nfl? Yes.

But it is no more a problem in the nfl than it us in society as a whole.

 

Women's groups in the past have suggested higher levels of domestic violence among not just football players, but football fans.

 

I know there was one group that always used to say the day of the Super Bowl had the highest rate of domestic violence of any day in the year.

 

No idea whether they can back that up or not.

According to snopes.com (again), they can't. Every claim of it ends up being BS, BS, and more BS. In fact a study some years ago on over a million police reports turned up Christmas and other major holidays as having 5 times more reports of it, vs. the the rest of the year. It's an interesting read. Apparently a lot of people really want to portray FB players and fans as violent thugs, but the numbers just don't back it up.

I think the bigger issue shining through to me is the fact that they actually posted something. I'm not trying to listen to players try and "educate" me about our government or comment on social responsibilities of American citizens. Just play football and stop being distracted.

      If it’s all the same to you guys, I’d like to use this thread for Tuesday nights game as well to keep this hate going. I have a feeling Tuesday vs the panthers is going to be violent in that arena.    @LinvilleGorgecan you please add “and Tuesday” to the game thread?  They play the Panthers again Tuesday.       Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.

      All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
