The vast majority of defensive ends don't do very well in their rookie year. There are exceptions (Peppers and Reggie White come to mind) but most of them struggle. I don't know if Ealy will end up being a solid player for us, but less than half a season is way to early to judge.

hardy and Johnson are in a league of there own, evertte brown didn't do anything is rookie year either did he develop over time? At the end of the day the jury is still out but hardy had 3 sacks his rookie year, I'm betting ealy doesn't reach that

Hardy was a bit of a specimen. Fell due to character issues. Ealy is pedestrians an at this point and will continue to be. He was not a dominant pass rusher in college anyway. I think he will be a good football player but with a DE it takes time.
