I met MJ last Saturday

Awesome! Was it pre-arranged? What were your impressions?

It was at the Hornets My Hero Gala. My wife works with Hanes and has a hookup.

It was a lot of pure luck that I was able to meet MJ. Right place, right time.

He was really cool though. Thanked me when I said I grew up watching all his games, you know stuff he's heard a million times.

Ahmad Rashad hosted the event. He made it clear how happy he was to have the Hornets back in Charlotte. TWC looks amazing decked out in purple and teal.

For the dinner I sat next to Cody Zeller. He couldn't be any nicer or down to earth. We were joking around most of the night.

Oh yea I forgot to mention....

Coach Clifford was walking by and I reached out my hand and was like "What's up coach how's it going?".  It was kind of funny, he might have thought I was someone he knew because he shook my hand and said, "Good! It's good to see you how are you?". Then he kept walking.  Very cool guy. We are lucky to have him as headcoach. He gave a little speech and said how he feels this roster gives us a chance to do some good things.

Another note: Rich Cho is the man. He was hanging out, dancing with a lady on the dance floor until the DJ stopped playing and the bar was shut down. At that point I didn't recognize any other members of basketball operations around, so it was cool to see Rich hanging out like a normal dude.

Very cool.

I took my son the the 2007 Wachovia championship and we had an encounter with MJ.

Long story short, MJ and Tiger were playing the Pro Am together and MJ hit a ball about 5 feet from us in the woods. It was on the side of the fairway where only about 10 of us were standing and no one could cross the fairway to get to us because it was roped off.

Jordan had to wait to hit his ball for about 5 mins so he lit up a cigar and just starting talking to us. One kid asked him to sign his Duke hat and MJ wouldn't do it (jokingly). He instead signed his golf glove and gave it to the kid. Then he walked over to my son and asked him if he was having fun and gave him a high five. Never cared about meeting famous people but I have to admit that was a cool experience.  Got some really good pictures that day.

Damn that's awesome.

I bet if he signed a Duke hat it would be his most rare autograph.

    • I thought this presented an interesting point. It is fair to wonder now, about switching the two QBs as so many tried to do that first year where Bryce was trash and CJ looked great.  It is almost the reverse scenario now and I wonder what CJ would look like here with better weapons better coaching and better protection. Overall, compared year one.  If each player had been in the other place for the three years. I would love to see CJ with this team now.  Just to see.
    • I really have no clue what to expect sunday.  To quote one of my favorite bands of all time, Operation Ivy "All I know is that I dont know".  We could win, hell we could win convincingly, we also could lose in blowout fashion.  We could be in a back and forth game with whoever has the ball last winning.  I legit HAVE NO CLUE.  This isnt the dominant bills teams of the past, Allen is still elite and can win any game by himself.  That said, heres my stab at looking at things. Our defense is made to stop this kind of team.  Strong against the run, a great corner but meh talent around the field.  We've stopped prolific run offenses this season.   Javonte Williams - Season low yards and ypa against us. De'Von Achane - Season low yards and ypa against us Breece hall - 3rd worst yards in a game Fact of the matter is, we arent what we were last year, we are a good run defense and that lines up well against the bills, Stop the run.  For once the lack of moving Jaycee might be a good thing, he will essentially lock down a side and without multiple real weapons thats fine.  Buffalo does not have an elite guy, theyve got a gaggle of average dudes.  Allen will stay away from Jaycee, it will be on Mike Jack and Chau Smith Wade do to their part and they will be matched with guys they can play at the level of. On offense, we do what the bills are bad at.  We run the ball well, and they suck at stopping the run.  Rico and Chuba will need 30 carries.  Andy Dalton will need to be opportunistic.  My big fear is what we learned last year, Dalton can get overconfident and make bonehead throws.  Its this simple.  Run the ball, stop the run.  Dont turn the ball over.  If we do these 3 things, we will be in a position to win in the 4th quarter.
    • This makes me wish we took a flyer on Quinn Ewers late in the draft
