Coaching Carousel Predictions

Given this point of the season, there's a few categories I see: The expected-to-be-fired & surprise firings

Which coaches lie where in your mind?  And who are your guess replacements?

Expected:

49ers

New coach: Adam Gase

Bears

New coach: Dave Toub; GM: Chris Ballard

Jets

New coach: Doug Marrone GM: Ryan Pace

Oakland

New coach: Art Briles (Harbaugh ends up in Michigan)

*my out of the box hire, but this could be Bowles destination

Bills

New Coach: Darrell Bevell

Falcons

New coach: Rex Ryan

You don't put Pep Hamilton in San Francisco?

Pep and Gase are the two sweethearts in league circles so he could definitely be there.  Gase is my guess though just out of pure speculation.

Those two will definitely land with storied franchises.

Also, I think Bevell with Idzik in New York is a likely scenario.  They get an offensive minded coach tight with the FO so they know there won't be another Rex situation.

If Hamilton doesn't get the Niners, you think he stays in Indy?

Also wondering if you've looked at which coaches are likely to be delayed by playoffs (other than the Wild Card window) and which will be immediately available?

I was also thinking D philosophies. Bowles/Horton would be 3-4 guys going to 4-3 places.

    • XL I dont even think he gets a full season. He's almost in a moment to moment tryout, post training camp. If he does his 'jumping out of bounds' catch again, I think the team calls him an Uber.
    • Kudos to the Knicks and their diehard, true fans. Like the Hornets, it wasn’t long ago that they were considered the laughing stock of the league with a trash owner (I guess Dolan has gotten a little better).    Loved seeing the energy in MSG.
    • Yeah one big factor has been he is surprisingly quite durable. But the reality of that aspect is much of it boils down to plain dumb luck more often than not. Big guys get hurt smaller guys get hurt it happens across the league to anyone to varying degrees. The issue is we are staring down the barrel of a possible top 10 QB salary and Bryce Young is one of the least physically gifted starters in the league. That is not a shot at him it is simply a rational acknowledgment of circumstances. There is a legitimate question to be asked if his window as a starter in this league is smaller as a result because what is going to happen when those hits that he has previously popped right back up from with a smile on his face begin to accumulate as they do for every player that has been in this league? These are just things to consider.
