Jarrett vs Moore for third WR???

Both started tonight but who is the number 3??? In reality I don't think there is a competition and Jarrett is the guy but based on the two preseason games to me it seems there should be. Moore seems to be getting more seperation and just seems more composed (no pun intended). He runs good routes and has caught everything in his reach. To think a few weeks ago I was just hoping he would make the team and now I'm thinking he looks like the better candidate to start at the slot. To me he is the kind of guy you want there, a quicker version of Ricky Proehl.

Who would you rather have at the slot on Aug 13?

Kenny Moore looks like a seasoned vet out there that knows exactly what he's doing. Jarrett still looks like it's his first game out there.

I think it's a no-brainer and Moore should be the #3, but we know how Fox is with playing undeserving higher draft picks and veterans over the other guys. Although he took a step in the right direction with Barnidge over King.

Jarrett looks like an all-pro receiver. That is, until the ball is snapped. Then he looks incredibly lost. Jarrett really needs to have an impressive preseason this year. It's time for him to come into his own. If he doesn't, look for him to be released, because it means his career is essentially going nowhere.

I hate to say it, but I think that Jarretts done. At first glance, one would think that he has what it takes to be that guy, maybe he does, it just doesn't seem like he can be that guy in Carolina. Moore has Completely out played Jarrett this preseason. Who starts should be based on who plays the best, PERIOD!

I thought I read somewhere that the Miami starting corners didn't even play so Jarrett couldn't even get open against them. The only problem I see for Moore is that he doesn't seem like a great blocker, although I'm merely assuming because I haven't seem him do much of that but other than that I think he is the perfect guy for the slot.

I don't think Jarrett is done, he's just far from being a #1 and I doubt he'll ever be. Playing opposite Smith can make a lot of bad receivers look adequate.

At this point, in the slot with Smith and Moose on the outside, Jarrett should be terrorizing defensive backfields. He's not only far from a #1. He's not an NFL grade receiver, and he hasn't shown that he can be yet.

I know Smitty and Moose didn't play tonight, but he hasn't shown much up to this point in his career, and tonight was a big opportunity for him.

    • Link to article Seven players mentioned are... ILB Mark Robinson (PIT) - 2022 seventh round pick that was a core special teams player and was productive in the final preseason game vs. CAR (3 TKLs, 1 FF, 1 FR). Undersized at 5'11" 235 lbs.  CB O'Donnell Fortune (NYG) - UDFA rookie out of South Carolina (and a Sumter native). 6'1", 185lbs frame fits the Panthers' preference for long and lanky CBs. Panthers' evaluators got a lot of time with him during the Shrine Bowl, his pro day, and the combine. CB Damarri Mathis (DEN) - 2022 fourth-round pick that played for Evero his rookie season at 5'11" 195lbs both inside and outside. Did well under Evero (16 games, 11 starts, 65 TKLs, 7 PBUs) but slid down the depth chart after he left. Started just seven of 27 games the last two seasons. DB Dean Clark (NYJ) - Fresno State UDFA with good size (6'1" 205lbs) and preseason production (5 TKLs, 1 INT, 2 PBUs) that can also play special teams. The Panthers have claimed a player from the Jets in each of the past two seasons (having also played the Jets both times in preseason though). OLB Brennan Jackson (LAR) - 2024 fifth-rounder that notched three sacks in the preseason. Played special teams and rotated in on defense that could potentially be an upgrade from DJ Johnson. DB Beau Brade (BAL) - 2024 UDFA that appeared in 11 games and played 70% of the special teams snaps. Has the size (6'0" 209lbs) that the team covets at safety. K Ben Sauls (PIT) - 24yrs old and went four-for-four against Carolina in preseason. Made 21 of 24 FGs during his final college season at Pitt.
