This is the only way we have a chance to get into UCL next year, so suck it bitches... this one's ours!!

(I can dream, right?)

It can definitely be done. There is some quality in Europa this year though. If Liverpool can get healthy, we could make a decent run as well. I expect Spurs to go far.

If the UCL winner does not qualify domestically then they have a playoff with the Europa champion correct?

  • If the Champions League title holders have qualified for the group stage through domestic performance while the Europa League title holders have not, the Europa League title holders enter the group stage through the berth vacated by the Champions League title holders. If the Europa League title holders have qualified for any of the qualifying rounds or play-off round through domestic performance, their berth is vacated, and teams of the highest-ranked associations are moved to a later round accordingly.
  • If the Champions League title holders have not qualified for the group stage through domestic performance, there are two sets of changes that may need to be made:
    1. If the Champions League title holders have qualified for any of the qualifying rounds or play-off round through domestic performance, their berth is vacated, and teams of the highest-ranked associations are moved to a later round accordingly. Similar team movements are possible as well, if the Europa League title holders have entered in force the play-off round of a certain Route while qualified for any round of another Route,[3] thereby vacating their berth in the last one.
    2. If the Europa League title holders have not qualified for the group stage through domestic performance, they enter the play-off round, where the section (Champions Route or League Route) they enter depends on whether the Champions League title holders are league champions of Association 13-54[3] or not. Unless the Europa League title holders have entered and qualified for the play-off round (League Route) through domestic performance, teams of the lowest-ranked associations are moved to an earlier round accordingly. For example (examples below do not take into account the possible moves due to the berth vacated by the Champions League title holders in the League Route and by the Europa League title holders in the Champions Route):
      • If the Europa League title holders have entered the play-off round (League Route) and not qualified for the Champions League through domestic performance, the third-placed teams of associations 4 and 5 are moved from the play-off round to the third qualifying round.
      • If the Europa League title holders have entered the play-off round (League Route) and qualified for the third qualifying round (League Route) through domestic performance, the third-placed team of association 5 are moved from the play-off round to the third qualifying round.
      • If the Europa League title holders have entered the play-off round (Champions Route), only 9 winners of the third qualifying round (Champions Route) advance to the play-off round. While the exact changes that need to be made are to be defined by UEFA as there is no similar precedent, a few possible scenarios are given below for the least unlikely case where the Champions League title holders have qualified for the third qualifying round (Champions Route): a) Two champions of associations 13–15 (except the Champions League title holders) are moved from the third qualifying round to the second qualifying round. B) The champions of association 15 (or the champions of association 14 if the Champions League title holders are from association 15) are moved from the third qualifying round to the second qualifying round, and the champions of associations 44 and 45 are moved from the second qualifying round to the first qualifying round. c) The champions of associations 42–45 are moved from the second qualifying round to the first qualifying round.

  • 1 month later...

He better make top 4 now. No CL footy will be very disappointing next year.

I like Rodgers just saying. Also he hates Balotelli and I want a logical reason as to why

He set Balo up to fail yesterday and I'm not sure why. There was no link up play from the holding mids to the forwards. Can and Allen were forced to play the ball to the feet of stationary attackers, because we had no control over the middle third. Bad formation.

    • Right, so basically what I said in my first post about this last night. Tepper needs to use that big wallet of his in one of the few ways it can be used in the NFL given the cap.   Give Scourton a bigger signing bonus but not a fully guaranteed deal. Everyone wins in that scenario as if Scourton is smart and hires good money people, he'll take that bigger signing bonus and use it to make more money in the end over the next 4 years than if he just had his fully guaranteed deal and a smaller signing bonus.
    • It is all confusing and layered. SB is the cash you get very soon within weeks or in simple terms, its what you get to sign the paper work. Players and agents can agree on contract but what to "wait" to sign......teams don't like that cause you can "Carlos Boozer" yourself. In order to get that ink dry, while keeping the contract the same, portion it as a bonus to "sign" and get the funds with ________ .   * But Ive seen worded contracts that split the SB or a 20% to a later date. The beans counters can fill in the details about why certain dates are better and save the team money.. Theres tricks to the trade and accounting is full of them.    Ugh another big layer, is SB can be used to manipulate cap and players. Ill try to give a example that makes enough sense. Believe it or not having a owner like Tepper is a cheat code for this. He has cash in hand, where as Mark Davis had problem making pay roll and had to move the team to Vegas....... Tepper can give you 100,000,000 SB right now and the team can spread out the cap hit. Another owner doesn't have or want to give the player 100,000,000 in cash, but offered the same guaranteed contract in roster bonuses fully guaranteed over the next few years........ Which one do you want??? Everyone wants the money now, not before another inflation waves hits in 2 years. So it does 'pay" to have a owner like tepper that's able to have real cash on hand, while it also works GREAT for cap help. Heres a good video, if you can stand coked up pat and mask look-a-like AJ
