Brees replaces Big Ben (after Rivers passed on it as well)

Brees is 1st alternate, Rivers is 2nd alternate, Russell Wilson is 3rd alternate, Matthew Stafford is 4th alternate

Rivers is in as the replacement of the winner of Brady/Luck in the AFCCG

crazy that Brees wasn't in the Original Six QBs selected to the Pro Bowl, as he and Peyton Manning were the only two to finish Top 6 in passing yards, passing TDs, and QB rating:

#4 yards, #2 TDs, #4 rating -- Peyton Manning

#1 yards, #5 TDs, #6 rating -- Brees

There were 3 other QBs to finish Top 7 in each category, all 3 were in the Original Six selected to the Pro Bowl:

#1 yards, #7 TDs, #3 rating -- Big Ben

#3 yards, #1 TDs, #7 rating -- Luck

#7 yards, #3 TDs, #2 rating -- Rodgers

The other two in the Original Six selected to the Pro Bowl were:

#14 yards, #4 TDs, #1 rating -- Romo

#10 yards, #5 TDs, #5 rating -- Brady

as for Rivers, Wilson, Stafford being selected as 2nd to 4th alternates, it should have been three of these four:

#16 yards, #16 TDs, #10 rating -- Wilson

#5 yards, #10 TDs, #11 rating -- Matt Ryan

#8 yards, #8 TDs, #12 rating -- Rivers

#6 yards, #9 TDs, #15 rating -- Eli Manning

as for Stafford, not only should he be below those four, but also below Tannehill, Flacco, and Cutler:

#11 yards, #12 TDs, #14 rating -- Tannehill

#12 yards, #12 TDs, #16 rating -- Flacco

#10 yards, #10 TDs, #17 rating -- Cutler

#14 yards, #14 TDs, #21 rating -- Stafford

but as it is, Stafford, as the 4th alternate, has a good chance of going to the Pro Bowl...

Detroit Free Press yesterday:

"If two of Manning, Rodgers and Romo pull out of the game, as expected, Stafford would head to Arizona for Pro Bowl festivities next week."

    • The last time the offense saw the field we were up in points in a playoff game. The defense then allowed the most humiliatingly easy scoring drive in NFL history. So... the coaching staff needs the most help tbh.
    • https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp   19 is valued at 875. 16 @ 1000 Our higher 5th round pick is @ 28.2  It would take our 3rd to really do anything with. Maybe the 4th plus a 5th.
    • After talking to a bunch of you it seems the overwhelming majority of y'all would like to see our first round pick use them defense because we have went offense and receiver at that two of the last 3 years. But I posed a simple question what is the reason we lost to the Rams and after free agency and all the money we've been spending which side of the ball do you think is in need of more upgrades?  I don't think just because you drafted a specific position repeatedly doesn't mean you shouldn't draft that position again if it's still a weakness I think if you swing it back and you strike out and or miss you have to get up there and take another swing personally I think the offense is much worse off than the defense there's more Star power on defense than offense.  Legette was a legitimately amiss and a bus so we have to just watch the thought of him out of the way we are still without a certified number two and arguably Coker could be that but I'd rather he be a number 3 and we lack a field stretching speed option and a legitimate starting tight end we don't really know what we have at RB outside of tuba so I think the offense is bigger? Than the defense which was average last season.
