The Senior Bowl Thread

Was a bit chilly out there tonight. The alternating possessions thing totally destroyed what was a good game for 3 quarters.

Im assuming I'm not the only one intrigued by Dezmin Lewis now. Had so,e great catches tonight, and he made a couple like that this week too. Met him yesterday too, and he was a real nice lad.

Nebraska RB Ameer Abdullah named MVP, going down in history with previous Senior Bowl MVPs Matt Forte, LaDainian Tomlinson, Thurman Thomas, etc

He had:

4 catches for 40 yards (10.0 yds per catch)

7 carries for 73 yards (10.4 yds per carry)

he had more than 1,880 yards from scrimnage in each of the past two seasons, averaging over 6.1 rushing ypc both years

owns the Nebraska school career record with 6,605 career all-purpose yards

even Mel Kiper is comparing him to Darren Sproles

Nebraska used Ameer as a punt returner his freshman and sophomore years (13.06 yards per punt return as sophomore, Top 15 in the NCAA ahead of Tavon Austin, Odell Beckham, Justin Hardy, Phillip Dorsett etc). Then they quit using him as punt returner (probably to protect him from injury), but kept using him as a kick returner (28.00 yds per kick return last year, top 10 in the NCAA..only big name ahead of him was Mizzou's Marcus Murphy with 29.65, and Murphy had a big kickoff return today in the Senior Bowl)

    • I wouldn’t be surprised if the Pats win it all or at least get there. Maye is awesome.
    • Young quarterbacks Drake Maye, Bo Nix, and Bryce Young have led their teams to undefeated records since October.   Drake Maye has guided the New England Patriots to a 5-0 record in that period, with 2,285 passing yards and 17 touchdowns in nine games. Bo Nix has directed the Denver Broncos to a 5-0 stretch, throwing for 1,976 yards and 17 touchdowns, contributing to a 7-2 overall start. Bryce Young, in his second season, has led the Carolina Panthers to a 4-0 run since October, accumulating 1,390 yards and 11 touchdowns amid a 4-4 record.   Undefeated QBs since start of October (min. 4 starts)   Drake Maye 5-0 Bo Nix 5-0 Bryce Young 4-0   Bryce Young when asked about his mindset during game winning drives: "You don’t rise to the occasion you fall back to the level of your training."
    • 1. Cowboys-No explanation needed. 2. Rest of NFC South equally. If I had to pick I would say Falcons.    3. Eagles- Both of the games I have attended there the fans were so horrible. The fan base is so ridiculously misbehaved, I’ve never seen such immaturity. 4- Lions- I have cousins in Michigan that grew up Lions fans and they are some of the most obnoxious people I have ever met, as are all of their Lions buddies. The NFL has been lucky that Detroit has been in the cellar for its eternity.    5. Tie between Bears and Vikings. Both act like Steelers, Cowboys, Niners fans do with nostalgia and legendary seasons but neither have ever really had them. They act like they each won 5 super bowls in previous decades but never accomplished poo outside of Chicago in 85.
