AP: Seriously....

Given the chance, will you take Peterson with your 1st round pick? I'm down at 11th pick so there's no way he'll be available...but even if he were I'd really have to think about it. Why? Well...

- We're already seeing the supposed effect Favre is having on the team in the locker room (that is if we're to believe the reports). But beyond that...

- Knowing Favre's penchant for wanting to throw a ton, isn't that going to limit AP's chances...not only just on play selection, but because Favre also chucks up quite a bit of air-balls (led the league last year), so again, I think that means Minny's O has the ball for less time and contributes to AP's opportunities.

Now, I know the standard logic is you take the best player available no matter what team he's on and that great players are always gonna make their numbers...but damn if I don't have a feeling that Favre is gonna kill AP's production this year.

So whadda ya think? I haven't been reading the FF sites but surely someone else must have thrown out the same sort of question.

i'm torn on the subject. i THINK i'd prefer turner, forte, and williams over AP

the only legit offensive weapon that the vikings have had has been peterson.

if farve can develop even the hint of a decent pass game to decrease the number of 8 man fronts that peterson has to run against, peterson will easily be the number one back in the league again this season.

hard to call him a steal at 1-4...which is where he is going.

I agree he deserves to be up there, but I don't know whether it's Cutler's arrival and a presumption of switching to a pass-first offense or what, but I've seen him dropping past 7 in drafts...

Umm, yes, if he's there at the 11th, you take him. Which he won't be.

oh, I know he won't be there at 11...I'm not worried about it even though I grabbed him last year at #2....I was just thinking about what I'd do if I were picking in the top 3 or 4 and he was available. If Favre wasn't the QB I'd have no reservations because I don't think they'd be so committed to the pass as they will with the gunslinger back there. IMO, Favre is a negative with regard to AP.

    • You're assuming just as well.   Morgan and Canales were hired 3 days apart.  I believe it was partially due to their connections in Seattle.  i believe Tepper wanted some familiarity with his GM and HC.  It is so easy to sit back and arm-chair QB over draft picks.  You don't know what the philosophy was going into the 2024 draft.  I believe Canales and Morgan were drafting for the future.  XL and Brooks point to that philosophy. Name me one GM that is 100% on draft picks.  Just one.  You're not going to find one.    I think year one picks weren't for what can you do for me now but Potential.   XL hasn't lived up to the hype of a 1st rounder.  I think we all can agree on that. However, there still is hope he comes around.  What I believe they saw in him was his speed after the catch.  He needs to get more consistent but when he gets the ball you kind of hold your breath just a second because if he gets free, he's gone.  The Brooks pick was a signing for the future, and no one could have guessed he would re-injure the same ACL.  This makes the pick look bad but Dallas was ready to draft him later that same round.  IMO we'll have to see what happens next season before we can call this a bust. Wallace has improved each season and for a third rounder has done well.  Sanders has shown flashes and considering the pick in the 4th round it wasn't a bad pick.  His sophomore season IMO was a little bit more productive.  Smith-Wade has been a good addition and has played well.  For a 5th round pick to get as much playing time as he has.  Most picks below round 3 should take a couple of years to get up to speed.  He's been a decent player.  Crumedy, no comment We turned Barrett into Jackson.  This was an amazing move and basically got a starting CB for a 7th round pick.  Pretty shrewd if you ask me. Coker, maybe the best Free Agent signing of the 2024 draft class. So, in short, you can't say that the draft was a bust.  It isn't a home run but all but one are still on the team and outside of Brooks have made contributions to wins.  2025 draft class has been much better with almost every pick making contributions this season.  Now take Fitterer's two years and compare them to Morgan and tell me that they have the same philosophy.
    • He hasn’t led crap, he’s on loaded teams and a piece of the puzzle. And he’s he has improved drastically but it took the ultimate QB whispers in Shanahan and KOC. You put him on this Panther team and he’s back to normal Darnold
    • Slavin and Jarvis week to week. Florida cheap shots took out our two best players.  I’d start KK so he can beat the brakes off someone.
