Jacobs: "I'm Playing"

This comes back to an aspect of the game we have been good at, controlling field position. Keep them working the long field. Deep kickoffs and punts and hold their starting field position inside the 30. Make them put together long drives to score. Our D might bend, but offenses suffer when they have to take extra snaps to score against us. Jacobs is a beast but there is no way he can give a full game's effort coming off a knee injury. They need him at 100% for the entire game. If he has to work long drives he needs to be 100%. He did not play against Dallas. No way he will suddenly be 100% Sunday.

Even yards per carry in a particular game doesn't tell you alot. For example if a back get 50 yards on one run and gains 50 on the next 15 it looks pretty good but really with the exception of one run the rest were mediocre. For example Williams had a big run against Denver but otherwise was not that great. Still was was important was that he got a big touchdown and changed the game. We bottled up Peterson, Forte, Tomlinson and Dunn the second time given that we gave up 0 TDS to them. They had a few runs but nothing really meaningful. That is bottling them up. And making their runs relative meaningless.

I still don't agree that we bottled up Dunn or the others (except for Peterson). IMO, we either got far enough ahead that the abandoned the run, or controlled their passing attack so that they were one dimensional. Our run defense has not been that good this year, but until recently, the pass defense has made up for it. We will have to agree to disagree.

I can't wait for Brandon Jacobs to meet Chris Harris.

Me neither...trust me its going to take more than just Chris Harris to stop him. He has about 60 pounds on him and at 264 hes got his 40yd dash down in the 4.4's the guy is a beast and has quickness for a big guy. Should be a good game..but our offense is a whole different game with Brandon in there.

So clearly, I'm a giants fan. I'm glad you're all excited and plan on winning this game. It's great, I love watching the giants crush the dreams and expectations of fan bases all over the country. Most of you think Jacobs isn't a top rb in the nfc? He practiced today, means he's feeling much better, he didn't practice before 2 weeks ago when he reinjured him. I just wanted to drop by and give you a little peak at what other fans, and players, were saying as well before they played.

Tell me now, how'd that pan out?

However, you used Forte as an example. But that is severely flawed. Chicago jumped out to an early lead and then tried to run the ball. However, we still held him under 100 yards for the game.

Kind of like you "Dashed the hopes" of the Eagles and Cowboys fans over the past two weeks?

Go back to remedial class there Junior and get your story straight. Your offense has managed one garbage TD....yes, that is right one damn lousy TD in the past two games.

Come back Monday for your beating after the Panthers roll the Gnats.

haha these panther fans are funny.. win two games against lousy teams and now they are gods gift. we STILL have more points scored than your team combined through all 15 weeks

Giants fans are so ignorant....get their asses handled by two teams in a row and they still think they are the team to beat.

Accept it G-Spot.....the Giants are old news. There is another bully on the block and it's name is the Carolina Panthers.

Come on back to visit us on monday though...we love to hand out the bitch slaps to all of our Sunday victims.

And what would be the Panthers record against your precious G-Men @ the Meadowlands?

    • Of course, everyone has film. That is probably fresh in their mind though. Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
